Who are the Dagestanis in the UFC right now?

You didn't know was Belal is American? Seriously...stop making threads and do the laundry bitch.

Tagir Ulanbekov
(formerly) Muhammad Mokaev (born in Dagestan)

Heavyweight
Shamil Gaziev (born in Dagestan)

With any luck, hopefully someday also Islam Omarov (fw) and Muslim Magomedov (lhw).

I don't think the UFC will ever sign ACA guys, while Vartanyan is Armenian and Azamat Kerefov is from Nalchik? They turned down signing both...they also weren't interested in Timur Khizriev, it's why he went to Bellator (and will probably be their FW champ soon). So I doubt they'd sign Islam Omarov, but Omarov and Bibert Tumenov could both be 145 title contenders in the UFC (Tumenov also from Nalchik). Renat Khavalov at 135lbs and Amru Magomedov at 155lbs are the two big Dagestanis that might end up UFC bound. The word was Murad Magomedov left ACA to try and get signed, top Flyweight prospect but they weren't interested. They don't want these guys, Russians would fuck the UFC bad if they recruit them like they do Brazilians and actually allowed to have 60 of them on the roster instead of like 25.

100%. If they get that many russians on the roster, and actually recruit some of the better prospects in the russian mma scene, they would make many sherbros very unhappy lol. They will start taking many top positions in most weight classes.

Well, Dana will ALWAYS prioritize money over sport, so I'm sure he'll keep signing former TKD guys and boxers and pro wrestlers rather than sign "boring" fighters who will take over.
I understand avoiding ACA fighters for political reasons, but I think Dana just finds them to be less marketable. And we all know how much Dana loves having his needle moved. 💦💦💦💦

What do you mean by that exactly? You mean in terms of appeal in the West or political issues preventing them from getting Visas and fighting often?

True, but I've never seen a lutte livre fighter from anywhere but Brazil and I've never been in a Muay Thai school that had any Thai people in it. This guy has me interested in his fights now because I'd love to see more lutte livre around.

I think Darren Till is a lutte livre fighter too..
