Everyone you listed is from about a 15 year period and North American (Andre aside).......not trivial at all.

The shortlist is farcical tbh, even to a relative layman like me.

To me, you can't call someone the best wrestler if they never became bigger than wrestling. Brock Lesnar, for example, could be considered one of the best in terms of being a draw, having a successful mainstream career outside of wrestling, having legitimacy as a tough guy, and getting millions and millions of dollars out of wrestling, on his own terms and without giving his life to it. The only one I can put above him in that respect is The Rock. Hulk Hogan never achieved any kind of mainstream success outside of wrestling, likewise Stone Cold, and pretty much any other top level wrestler you can name. This doesn't take into account in ring ability, but both Rock and Brock were way better than Hulk in that respect too.
