Media Whittaker is considering a move to 205

Remember folks, CTE doesn't discriminate - it will come for even the better people in this sport.

But anyone in his team countenancing this silliness deserves to catch some extra CTE themselves if they go along with it.

Khamzat making ol Bobby reconsider his weight class.

When you get besmirched like that, I can see that messing with you mentally
When you get RnC'd in two minutes it really does put some things in perspective. Sandhagen reconsidered his whole MMA career when Aljo did that to him. Luckily he came back a better fighter

Weird move when you just got your jaw crushed into pieces to a division where they punch and squeeze harder.

People say LHW sucks (which is true) but both Weidman and Rockhold got absolutely wrecked when they moved up. Cannonier was a mid tier guy at 205 too.

Size matters
Rockhold only had one bout at LHW against Jan, which his defense bad habit of his hands and being not the same from a leg surgery & KO post Romero bout had a lot more to do with losing to Jan.

Weidman just was getting ko'd left and right prior to moving up and honestly i think USADA had something to do with his downfall but i can only question that.

Both Rockhold & Weidman imo both moved up at the wrong times in their careers, its not like they were losing close bouts prior, they both were getting KO'd or TKO'd in brutal fashion.

MW champ is african warrior with the heart of a lion and body of a gorilla so maybe he is right

Weidman got wrecked before moving up then continued getting wrecked at middleweight moving back down.

When you're shot, you're shot.

He didn't have all his teeth and the ones remaining were already injured.
Every strong grappler could have done this to him.

Whitaker looked way smaller than DDP though

That's crazy. But maybe he'd be slick and fast enough to beat a couple guys. I can't see him going all that far though.

Moving to LHW? At his age? with his mileage?

I love Bobby and I know he would be as tough as nails in that weight class but I just don't get how he thinks it would play out for him in that division.

I just don't get it

Robert Whittaker used to fight at 170 in the UFC.

He has not bulked up a lot since then.

Now imagine Poatan trying to make 170.

Go out with one last fight Bobby, but call it quits after.

He wrestles at 209 in the Commonwealth games. He walks around in the 220s.
So like a normal MW fighter then? All the top MWs walk around at that weight. Dricus (222), Strickland (217), Adesanya (215). Khamzat (217)

I mean he has a few options. He already lost to Khamzat, Izzy and DDP at MW. Wonder if he could drop to WW in a healthy way? Either way his time at MW is going to be a long way to title shot. WW or LHW he has a shot at a quicker path. His gap is closing as he gets older, so it's his last run for title.

Weidman was past it when he moved up, too many surgeries and he'd been stopped in 4 of his last 5 at MW and then he moved up and got stopped again.

It's not like he moved up when he was on a run.

I think both WW and LHW is a bad move for him
Especially WW tho, when he was 22/23 he said his cuts were super difficult and would compromise his camp and his performance. At 33/34, that's gonna be way harder to do
And while I don't think WW is too crazy right now with the level of competition, one of Rob's big advantages at MW is his speed and he's basically losing that at WW

LHW is pretty self explanatory, that's just a bad move and Rob's too small. He could beat someone like Smith maybe due to the skill gap being pretty wide, but other guys such as Jiri, Ank, Khalil and Pereira are gonna give him hell

I get that MW is looking like a hard road for him losing to multiple top five guys now(DDP, Khamzat and Izzy twice), however that's definitely his ideal weight division
Rob seems to kinda know this now and even DDP who's a huge fan of Rob admitted that the road back for him is a long one. It doesn't help that two of those losses were pretty recent and in pretty dominant fashion(DDP and Khamzat)

Rob's most likely gonna return in June against Caio, IMO he got the trickier fight compared to Izzy who is now fighting Imavov
Imavov is alright and skilled, but doesn't have great fight IQ, I think Izzy beats him

Rob against Caio tho? That's a hard fight, and an even harder one to come back to coming off a loss
A lot for him to prove there

Fuck it give him Smith. Rob deserves a warm up fight
