If racism is only an excuse for failures to blame other people, then it's patently impossible for the so called "supreme" race to be affected by it. Either they acknowledge that they're the supreme race and forfeit any right to complaint, or they acknowledge that race is a factor in the current day and that their thoughts of supremacy are rooted in little more than delusion.

They have a right to say what they need to say, because what if they are right (not that it is in any way)? What if white people are actually smarter than others? Would we want to suppress this information even though it might be the truth?

What if scientists studied black people and found that they were naturally more athletic? Should this fact be hidden because of it's potential consequences?

I personally think that the more we learn about ourselves is better. Not that white people are naturally smarter or black people are naturally more athletic (just the stereotypes that exist right now). Would help for when we start genetically engineering ourselves.

The US abolished an imported caste institution more slowly than most retroactively desire, and overwhelmingly because the dominant ethnic group deemed it barbaric and economically obsolete on their own initiative. It's been a series of constant uninterrupted upward promotions since landfall.

"Fought tooth and nail" is reserved for groups like the Yazidi who are being deliberately hunted into extinction and have to train their daughters in guerrilla warfare rather than send them to elementary school.

My parents grew up in a bomb shelter. Now as an "exotic" American the biggest worry in my life is finding an oxblood belt that matches my shoes, or having idle online threats lobbed at me for my conservatism.

Every day I see people living the same lifestyle and raving about the oppression that weighs them down, how they never had a fair shake in this country because the racists stock their local grocery store with 7% more high-fructose corn syrup than the national average (coincidence or conspiracy?).

The "legacy of oppression" is that the US didn't abolish imported caste divisions as quickly as it could have, wasn't perfect in quelling back-and-forth vigilantism. Sue the guy who pulls you out of a burning car for scratching your glasses.
