Hey man
I'm with dude above who referenced the other white belts experience and positional training etc
I'm a white belt too, I possibly have the same amount of training as you but I've also done other stuff which makes me less hesitant than someone who hasn't.
Don't get too focused on dudes 'beating' you on the mats bro, that shit's just disheartening.
John Danaher wrote a good piece on the benefits of training in Gi and no gi, that parts that resonated with me were his belief that your escapes have to be truer in Gi given the friction of material, which in turn would benefit your escapes overall. He also discusses the benefit of No Gi for scrambles, balance and attack.
I take these ideas into my sessions, I do one or two Gi sessions a week and when I roll I usually only look to learn grips, escape and avoid subs, I do a couple of no gi classes where around half the participants are mma/ wrestler guys, I usually focus on re-guarding, passing guard, etc etc.......scrambling
I also make a point of rolling with everyone so I can see how they roll and pick and choose depending on how I want to roll/ want I want to achieve.
Last but not least......are the leg locks heel hooks or are they straight ankle locks? If youre worried let your partners know before you roll about your concerns.......
Good luck bro
