Xbox Which to buy: Sniper Elite 4 or 5?

Just finished the campaign on Sniper Elite difficulty.

That last mission was sick, very enjoyable and didn't feel like a slog.

Got gold on my default rifle, the carcano and the Sten. Went back to the Well(rod) on the last few missions because a silenced pistol on regular ammo fucks hard...almost gold on it.

Also unlocked the trench gun pump shottie and luger after farming kills on San Salini with the save/reload thing. Felt dirty doing it that way but...hey I got a job and wife and can't grind like I used to 10 years ago.

Also fucking with the silenced carbine (forget the name atm) totally adds a new play style since you can't long shot, but damn a silenced rifle is a sick twist.

Wife is out of town so gonna play them DLCs in between painting the interior of the house.
I picked the deluxe version on the Steam summer sale for around $10, what a blast.

I had been thinking about this game for a while, but I had a cloud save from 2017, surprised me lol. I must have returned it. My pc was really shit at the time, so Imagine that was my reason?

Anyway, I just finished the mission with the big gun on the bridge, that map was the best one yet, especially setting traps for the armored vehicle, though I did like the town in 2nd map.

All the numerous pathways and creative ways you take enemies quietly down is so much fun. Things went to shit in the 2nd map in the middle of the town, so I went full run and gun, which is also just as fun.

I'm only playing on normal, which I'm finding too easy. Can we switch to harder difficulties mid campaign? What's the difference in difficulty?

One thing I love about the PS4 era of games is how good they still can look, while being super smooth on the Steam Deck too. I'm playing on my PC and Deck interchangeably, a total blast.

Want Bavarian DLC update, homey Thrawn. Beautiful, no?

Love hearing you've deployed too, bud.

Yes, you can switch mid-campaign but for campaign-level achievements, you'll have to womb-to-tomb replay. If memory serves, there are only two trophies/cheevos that demand this (and they're hard AF). Otherwise, you can go back per individual mission hud and see what your highest difficulty was, then replay accordingly.

This game, though – or series rather, has incredibly high replay value so it's no big, really. Methods of extermination and meeting objectives are many.

The new one Sniper Elite Resistance is free on Xbox Game Pass right now.

Ive played through most of the series and the Nazi Zombie Army games through gamepass.

Thx man. I don't care about achievements, so I'll def switch to a higher difficulty, will surely make things more tense.

Elite 5 must be wild with invasions turned on. I hear the game forces you down more linear pathways though, which is why I went with Elite 4, price helped too lol

I do look forward to playing 5 at some point though, if only to hunt real players.

Plan on starting the DLCs today, I ran through the entire campaign again (albeit a lower difficulty) to do some challenges and upgrade more guns.

I'll be back on Sniper Elite difficulty for my first run through on the DLC

Think my "Set Europe Ablaze" achievemt for completing the 4th mission (dockyard) is glitched.

I've beaten that mission multiple times and never got it, got all the other mission completion ones, and this last campaign playthrough I ran through all the missions as they were supposed to be played in order.

Definatly feel like medium difficulty is easy after completing the campaign on Hard.

...but it was nice for doing the bonus objectives that get a little crazy (complete facility in 15 min was brutal)

What objective is this? Immobilise, car-bomb all Axis vehicles?

Its a trophy/achievement
Complete the mission. Funny thing is I have every other mission completion in the campaign. Just not this one.

Seems simple enough. I remember the way you complete a mission and the mission objectives being checked aren’t exactly 1:1. There’s got to be some minor thing you’re doing when completing the main objective(s) that’s off.

You'd think so. I did the secondaries as well on the first go round. I'll try again maybe later, sick of that map, lol.
