Which fighter has had the worst luck with judges?

Nick Diaz in his first UFC run in the early 2000s. The judges just didn't understand what they were watching back then.

BJ Penn with the first GSP fight possibly and the 1st fight against Edgar.

Leonard Garcia had some tough luck

he’d prolly still be champ if these judges got their shit straight

Romero 100%. He would have been champ with a few defenses if not for shitty ass judging.

Yoel did not deserve to win the Izzy fight, as he did not show up to win the Izzy fight, Yoel shit the bed that night worse than anyone I've ever seen. It was pathetic.
I feel like they were both equally culpable for that and I don’t believe in this “beat the champ to be the champ” as it isnt stated anywhere in the rules.

As bad as the fight was, Yoel has an argument to 3 rounds, verdict had him the winner too.

carla won her belt in an equally uneventful fight

Also, Izzy wasn't the one chasing Gold, it was on Romero to bring it to the champion, and he just stood there.

That is not a rule. Why do you keep repeating it?

You do not get extra points for being a champ.

5 rounds scored, and whoever accumulated most judging points wins. Simple.

I don't believe he won the fight though, Yoel needed to do more and he didn't, if he had done more it would have made Izzy do more, but that didn't happen and Izzy avoided danger and imo clearly won the last 3 rounds, I give Yoel the first 2 but they could go either way. I did rewatch the fight after all this talk, and I do think that the fight was better than I remembered and I am being a little too hard on Romero, but he still played a weird game that cost him the fight and was not himself, ya know berserker, Boogeyman of the division, he wasn't that and it was on him to push more because Izzy was gonna win at that pace, not because Izzy was champ. And Izzy's main concern was retaining the belt, so it's not on him to go and make it more exciting if he's winning. I do agree that a win is a win in a title fight. Yoel was literally hoping Izzy would just tee off on his turtle defense and catch him with one big shot, that's not a good game plan.

I don't mean from a scoring perspective, but from a mindset and game plan standpoint. You can't just sit back and play a waiting for a bomb game as you watch the champ retain his title.

As the challenger and a 40 year old getting his last shot at gold, he's gotta go for it, he certainly has no right to complain or say he won.

Based upon his reactions post-decision, Big Country would act as if he was robbed in almost every decision defeat <Lmaoo><Lmaoo><Lmaoo>

The respect and the fear of one another was equal on both sides I would say as well.

Doubt anyone's mentioned him, but Tanner Boser. He's been in 3 split decisions and lost them all, plus was in a majority draw.

I only saw two of those fights and thought the Nasciemento loss was legit (even though Tanner rocked him and was clearly more dangerous), but the Latifi loss should have been a win (rounds 1 and 2).
