Which current champion has the most fans?

Is there anybody who ISN'T a fan of Robbie Lawler?

People nitpick his skill set, and perhaps will pick against him in certain fights, but I don't think there's anyone that truly hates Robbie Lawler.

What a foolish way to judge fandom. They don't have twitter in Mexico or the bulk of the fanbase there doesn't use it. Cain is easily a bigger champion than Jones. And Aldo has more Brazilian behind him than Jones does Americans.

They don't have Twitter in Mexico? lol. There are Mexican accounts with as many as 9 million followers.

It's arguable within the "MMA community" -- being the best-liked fighter and having the most fans are almost mutually exclusive. Outside, it's gotta be Ronda -- she does movies, does late-night shows, she's on the cover of magazines; she's the only one of the current champions who can be considered anything close to a crossover star. And within MMA, she's finished every one of her fights, and only one of those fights have gone past the first round, so she definitely backs up her outside-the-cage fame.

You again mr15 black belts . Social media is a decent indicator of fans maybe not just Twitter but also facebook etc . It's easy for you to say Cain has Mexico behind him etc but then Jones and Weidman have America behind them . Your POV is very narrow . The TS was asking who has more fans an unless your goin to travel world wide and ask everyone on the planet the only estimate you can roughly go by is social media.

Hardly anyone in the US knows who Jones or Weidman are. Everyone in Mexico knows who Cain is. You have very poor logic, first about McG's wrestling ability and now about fandom. I can tell you are not from the US or you would know MMA is a small sport here and Jones and Weidman are not big stars.

lol what?
Mexico has higher twitter usage per capita than America, and is fifth worldwide in absolute numbers right behind Brazil. And #1 per capita usage is Kuwait. The middle east and latin america love twitter more than the West does.

some of you guys really have a skewed view on the world.

Lawler and Pettis are the most marketable.

Jones has more exposure because he had better sponsorship deals, has been champion longer, fights more, and is generally very good at what he does.

Sherdog loves Robbie Lawler though. I love Robbie Lawler.

Typically the fighter with the most haters is the fighter with the most fans. Just a numbers game. Hence Jon Jones.

That's weird, this article from May 2014 in forbes.com says the Top 10 Twitter countries, per capita use - Kuwait, Netherlands, Brunei, UK, USA, Chile, Ireland, Canada, Sweden, Puerto Rico in that order. Or are your numbers from a more recent made-up source?

Rousey, probably. As far as being recognized, though, it's gotta be Jones.
