Which are the most important body parts that make a good MMA fighter? Which are th least important?

There was a time when the ability to tweak your own nipples and spin them like an old radio dial was important. GSP perfected it.

It seems most good parts for fighting revolve around them being large.

Any body parts that being small offers an advantage?

(and small peni making you weigh less doesn't count)

im gonna go with the brain.

these days the top MMA fighters have not been beaten by opponents but more by themselves. Jon Jones has fucked up multiple times. GSP retired then promptly tore his ACL because he couldn't live without intense training. Nick Diaz has had some lame fights but his pot and DUI issues have held him back later in his career.

Johny hendricks was short and stocky but still managed to do great at 170. but he could not conquer himself and now has to fight at 185 or possibly higher where he is greatly outsized.

Cody could easily have beat TJ but let his cockiness and wanna be "gangster" persona allow him to get KOd.

mighty mouse is scared to fight TJ because he was not successful at 135.

Frank Mir could have been many time HW champ but he could not control himself and had to ride a motorcycle while his career depended on his physical health and well being.

this list can go on and on.

Chest is overrated.

Looks like he got hit by a fucking meteor

given the lack of good jewish fighters, I have to say the foreskin is a very important part (although there are some good muslims ones, they are still a outnumbered by the rest)

Big gut. Seems to work for Roy Nelson

Length is probably the most important attribute. It’s usually what decides the weight class you’re in. You do not want to be the shortest stockiest guy in the division.

The best guys in the division are usually the taller lankier fighters.

Every athletic activity has an athropometry that is better for it. Swimmers are usually built similar. Same goes for sprinters, basketball players etc.

Fighting a longer guy makes you realize how important reach is. If you ever moved around with someone you’re much taller than you it’s easier. You can keep them at bay with your jab, move around them.

- Edit

Jones is a perfect example. He has a cartoonish reach advantage over most of his opponents and uses it very well.

If you’re not used to fighting a guy that much longer than you, you’re not going to know how to do it. Jones is just fighting another person while your trying to deal with this awkward new puzzle.

On top of it Jon has a high striking out put. He pressures people from outside their range.

This is all just because of the way he’s built.

Them Hands and Chin... and whatever makes you have top-tier TDD.

Im just saying strong legs, lifting wise like Higher lbs Squats/Deadlifts don't matter at all.

I highly doubt ben askren, gsp, etc can lift that much in squats/deadlifts.

Any powerlifter can come to MMA, and they will feel weak as fuck even tho they are strong in weight lifting.
I strongly disagree I train with a guy who's a competitive strong man capital city barbell competitor, and good luck breaking that guys posture in guard, good luck getting him in a triangle, good luck breaking his grip.
Point is people who lift allot of weights correctly are strong point blank they are tougher to deal with just based on that alone.
Technique is king but strength matters, and having a strong squat means you have strong legs and strong legs means strong base, it's essential and beneficial to anything combat related.

Don't get confused you don't need a strong squat or dead to have strong legs but strong legs matter
