Where the hell is Tatiana Suarez ?

Hanging out with TJ Grant

If she does come back I would bet it would be at 125. Shes a big girl & that cut was already tough

Soon after Joanna hinted at an early 2021 return Suarez also hinted at the same. I thought that was interesting. She tried to book her next fight vs JJ after the Valentina loss knowing she was on the first and only retooling of her MMA career then when it wouldn't materialize went on injury break. Now when JJ might be coming back in an again vulnerable state she might also happens to be ready? How convenient. But hey it worked for Ortega.

Suarez is sus

. . . But she was ready to fight Rose, who had beaten Joanna twice already. Pretty sure Suarez wasn't afraid of anyone lol.

who just won a few interesting fights but never faced real opponents

She beat Viviane, who was 13-0 at the time; then Grasso, who is no slouch at all; then Carla, who is a former champ and still right up there in the mix; then, Nina, who had a good little streak going.

Do you only consider the champ and top 2-3 to be "real" opponents or some shit?

Imagine earning a title shot and never getting to realize it.

Karo Parisyan, Erik Koch, Josh Grispi and TJ Grant welcome her. (I'm not counting Lutter.)

Yeah, you are basically right. She could be fighting Zhang for the title next week if her body had held up. Some fighters work their whole lives and never get to a title shot; very few make it there and don't take it.

the Joanna and Valentina stans are letting their...uuhhh...... 'issues' show rather strongly ITT.
I guess that's a sign of fear or something ;)

I was initially really excited about her but that has waned quite a bit. Very talented but with those kinds of injuries, I don't know. I think she needs to think long term about her health and maybe call it the day. Brutal sport...

Viviane was one of the tiniest fighters in the UFC until she was let go. She was recently on a 3 fight losing streak until she dropped back down to 105. Alexa is good but not even in the top 15 at 125, which is a pretty thin division. Even with a win over Maycee, she'll probably just barely break into the top 10. Carla is on a nice win streak but her victories have been largely anything but impressive. Tatiana did not look that impressive against Nina but that could have been largely due to her neck injury. If you recall Weili's fight against Andrade, a neck injury, even a recovered one, is probably the last thing you want going into a fight against Weili. To date, I've been more impressed with Weili than I have with Tatiana even though the latter has been in the UFC longer.

Oh, yeh, I'm not arguing that Tatiana is anywhere near as impressive as Zhang, mate. I'm more just saying that Tatiana's competition hasn't been complete bums, and she's fought everyone they've put in front of her so far, and beat them very easily.

The next step for Tatiana was the top 5, but who knows if we'll ever see that happen.

Sadly I don't think she fights again. Will always be a tremendous "what if" scenario IMO...

She might be trying very hard to comeback (especially considering the 'champion'), but it is hard to imagine her ever being cleared to fight again by an independent physician.

If she were to get slammed or taken down roughly (in a way similar to how Holland took down Ontiveros) she could be at serious risk of paralysis.

^ That is something that could legitimately permanently damage the UFCs mainstream viability.

I hope she does the practical thing and decides to retire from combat sports after a great career.

Claudia Gadelha totally wanted to scissor with Tatiana, but Tatiana was unnecessarily cold toward Claudinha. On TUF.
