Where the hell is Tatiana Suarez ?

She said fairly recently that no one would like more to get back into the octagon than her. When she tried contact sparring her neck hurt. Her physician won't let her back until she's better. Rightfully so. She's still trying.

Started watching her on TUF and she's one of my favorite fighters. Glad she posts on social media. I'd love to see her continue connecting with the public. She has a tremendous spirit and really friendly, chill personality. Wishing her the best.

Oh, yeh, I'm not arguing that Tatiana is anywhere near as impressive as Zhang, mate

Why not though? Zhang 'only' beat unranked Danielle Taylor (now cut), unranked Jessica Aguilar (now cut), and Tecia Torres (in the middle of a 4 fight losing streak), before getting her title shot. Apart from Aguilar (who got crushed), in none of those wins was she as dominant as Suarez's wins over top 10 Grasso and former champ/current contender Esparza. I'm not saying Zhang isn't impressive, but it is amazing how people can get this image of a fighter being invincible and levels & levels above the competition, when they've actually not even come close to proving that yet.

Ah, I get what you're saying, and you're not really wrong. I guess I just put a lot of stock in Zhang's win over Joanna. And, yeah, I don't see Zhang as invincible. She looked very beatable in victory over Joanna, and I mean, Rose and Shev did the same job a lot easier.

Weili got the title shot because Andrade was the only fighter willing to fight her. Her fights against Danielle and Tecia were w/o her corner due to visa issues and she admittedly fought conservatively as these were among her first 3 fights in the U.S. and she spoke little English at the time. With her corner there, she decimated Aguilar, who prior to the UFC's opening of the SW division, was widely considered the #1 SW in the world, and obliterated Andrade, who had never been finished by another SW, in <40 seconds. She had one of the worst training camps imaginable leading up to her fight against JJ, and still managed to go toe to toe w/her for 5 rounds, something very few of even her most ardent supporters thought she could do. Most everyone thought it would be either Weili by finish or JJ by decision. Few consider her invincible but many consider her on another level over most, but not all, of her potential opponents.

Aguilar isn't a good metric to use. She was well past her prime by the time she fought Zhang and had lost two of her last three fights, which included a loss to Cortney Casey.
