I'm a BOliever
He's fighting the 70th ranked middleweight on a losing streak while sherdog brags about how easily he is gonna smash Alex and Izzy, what do we need to get hyped up for?
0 questions get answered in this fight.

This.I think I've read on every sherdog thread, youtube comment section and article on him that he's the greatest college wrestler ever and will become a champion in the UFC, a matter of when not if. He's on the main card of UFC 285 vs a can in his debut and they're giving him a countdown segment. He's fucking hyped out the wazoo and hasn't fought nobody. Meanwhile Rinya Nakamura has beaten better fighters and accomplished just as much as a wrestler. Just fucking annoying.
Talents is a generous term.I think the fight getting delayed by Bo's injury allowed the hype to simmer down from the boiling point it was at late last year and now people are just in a holding pattern. Also, if Nickal doesn't finish Pickett inside of two rounds it'll be a bit disappointing, to be honest. He's a stylistic nightmare for Jamie... who also happens to be one of the worst talents currently competing at 185.
What about orange Tang?
Talents is a generous term.
Pickett is the 185 Jay Perrin (smashed by overhyped Rosas): in no way qualified for the UFC but there as an NPC to create fake exuberance for mentally slow fans and the UFC hype machine to push a media darling.
Well put.Pretty much. Insert "fighter" if you wish. The guy had to compete on DWCS three times before he finally got signed. And it wasn't even a matter of him being "dominant but too boring or inexperienced" for Dana in his first two outings. The first time he got taken down and choked to sleep by grappler Charles Byrd in Round 1. Byrd, by the way, ended up going 1-3 in the UFC (all losses by TKO) before retiring. In his second try, Pickett got taken down and controlled on the mat by Punahele Soriano repeatedly and got 30-26'd in between eating shots on the feet. On the third attempt when he finally succeeded, the Samoan brawler he was fighting still managed to take him down and control him briefly before Jamie caught him with an absurd 19-punch flurry. Still failed to KO the guy and instead the stoppage ended up looking a bit suspect lmao.
Pickett seems like a solid dude and I'm sure he could do well for himself on the regional scene or perhaps in a different promotion or with a different camp, but he is just not UFC-caliber. He tries to do a little bit of everything and none of it well. Decent -- much less good -- offensive grapplers seem to be his kryptonite. He doesn't know how to use his tall frame and reach. Doesn't have that much pop in his shots. Tries to wrestle and clinch against opposing strikers but isn't as good at it as he thinks. He's almost like if you took a Neil Magny, sized him up to Middleweight, and then deprived him of a lot of his fundamentals in each area.
Watching them try to build a segment of the UFC 285 Countdown around him meant to hype him up as a contender was admittedly pretty amusing, though.
Everyone on Sherdog knows he is nothing more than the next Ben Askren without all the minor league wins. The 'Dagestani killer' is fighting this week and no one mentioning his name... really?
He an undefeated super prospect... He would end Izzy and Potent inside 1 round. Put some fucking respect on my boy Bo.
Watch... after he gets a first round submission/KO everyone gon be on his dick again
