I've been going on a trip to a different Asian country every few months recently. Even though I just got back from Vietnam, I am already thinking of where to go next. I have a trip to Hawaii in planned september (tickets already booked, super excited to visit the US again), and a road trip within Korea tentatively planned with my buddy when he comes to visit, but nothing else before or after then.

So far I'm torn between visiting Vietnam/Japan again or going somewhere I haven't been.
Taiwan
Thailand
I've thought about doing some volunteer work in Nepal as well
Since Japan is so close to Korea, I could do a weekend trip to Fukuoka or something at the very least.
Are Myanmar and Cambodia worth visiting?

You're a pussy if you don't climb Everest without oxygen.

Mongolia. when i think asia i always think east asia and south east asia. you got to say central asia or south asia or middle east to get me to think of other parts.

If you haven't been to Singapore you're fucking up...
Why do you say that? If I go to Malaysia, I was thinking I can stop by Singapore for a couple days since it's right there.

I don't know much about Mongolia but when I think about that country it's just deserts or vast plains. Seeing archery and wrestling competitions would be cool but other than that what else is there to do?

Can you expand on this with why/where etc
Cheers

Sorry I thought you had some actual experience to share. My appologies I'll do it right and research it myself, I will note that they to have a robust fermented food culture......

A sex hotel with the room designed with everything 'hello kitty' style. it was either that or sleep in the 24 hour McDonalds. Literally everywhere was booked.

what is most wild asian country (asian i mean east asia or south east asia) that i can visit?

I've been in a few of these threads and nobody ever mentions Laos. It's like people forget that place even exists. I had some wild times there, some good some bad but I definitely recommend it if you're more adventurous type.

Can you expand on this? All I know of Laos is that a girl I know went there and did shrooms but got caught by the police and had to bribe her way out of it.

If you're into partying every night on your trip you can't go wrong with Thailand, went to bangkok, koh phangan for full moon party, then phuket. All different experiences in their own way and still great.

Ho chi minh city in vietnam is great too, its a lot more lax than thailand, as in theres literally no law enforcement at all and no security at bars to tell you off.

The good

1) The wilderness is awesome there. Surprisingly some of the cleanest looking natural wild areas I've ever seen. Lots of waterfalls and other cool stuff. Kuang Si falls are really popular nowadays with tourists.

2) The food is very fresh and there's a lot of diversity. Also tons of Vietnamese and Thai food if that is your thing.

3) Sign up for The Living Land Company tour. That was seriously amazing, got to see what life is like on a farm using old techniques and ox.

4) Slow pace of life. If you've traveled to countries like Japan and Korea then this place is a breath of fresh air. Life here is a lot slower even compared to other South East Asian countries.

The bad

1) Police are so corrupt. This one really sucked for me, I lost 350 dollars because of them. I brought a girl to my hotel from a nightclub in Vietiane and apparently I committed a crime by simply sleeping with her. I guess the staff didn't see us but a camera picked it up and later on I had to go to the police station. Thankfully most of my money was in my room but the money in my pocket was all gone afterwards. It was basically go home or give them whatever I have in my wallet.

2) I got lost quite a few times. Once I went on the wrong bus and ended up in some rural village a couple hours away from where I wanted to go. I think you need to plan a bit more for Laos. I was super confident going in since at that point I had traveled to a few countries already.

3) Very poor, more than their neighbors so you will have some people asking for stuff or trying to scam.

No Pattaya? People love to shit on that place but I always had a lot of fun there. Bangkok nightlife is great too but it is spreadout. Pattaya everything is right there. I had a hotel above a gogo bar.

The pros sound amazing. I live in Seoul so a slower pace of life is breath of fresh air for me.
So it's a crime to sleep with a local or something? Did the police come to your hotel and take to the station?

I was in Laos last week. It isn't that amazing. Landlocked country with shit food and its illegal to stay in hotel room with a local girl as a foreigner lol. Vang Vieng used to be crazy years ago before the government shut it down and ripped out all the riverside bars. Luang Prabang is nice and there is some nice scenary but the roads are fucking horrible, so it isn't a fun place to tour on bike. Vientiene is pretty boring after 2 days.

Honestly, nobody talks about Laos, because there isn't a lot going on there.
