WHERE IS SHAVKAT RAKHMONOV'S HYPE?

Because he’s beaten low level guys in technical and methodical fashion. Real ones know he’s very skilled, but his fights haven’t induced the type of excitement and HOLY SHIT factor that Khamzats have.

And for some reason if the UFC try to push him and give him a top 3-4 fighter, those guy who were ducking him will complain and say that he does not deserve it. Somehow.

Great, entertaining prospect. Unfortunately not the most active guy either. About to be averaging less than two fights per year.

I really enjoy his fights. Very well rounded and always tries to finish the fight. I remember him finishing Cowboy Oliveira in the first round in his debut and I was like :eek:
 
We're still trying to get 1 hype train a titleshot with Khamzat. Also WW is hard to get any high level fight booked.

He needs to fight more. I understand he wants a top 10 guy but Islam proved you just need to smash and be active. He'll move up the rankings 2 or 3 spots no matter who he beats. Not like he's getting a title shot anytime soon anyways w/ Leon/Usman 3 tentatively scheduled for March/April(per Helwani).

I'm high on the Shavkat train but he was a bit of a blanket against Magny.
Magny is the guy that contenders blast away and it was super impressive that he broke Magny, the guy who breaks people it just wasn't a hype inspiring fight for the casual fan base he also avoided striking in favour of wrestling. Magny is also showing signs of slowing down and looked pretty bad against Griffen.
As a Wonderboy fan I think Shavkat showed he can do what Burns and Belal did. Luque would be the next best test IMO a fighter with good TDD and striking. Not everybody needs to jump to the top 5 like Khamzat did. Building Shavkat is just going to build more hype for when he does earn his title shot.

Most people recognize Khamzat and Shavkat as the 2 best welterweights in the world
