Where does Topuria's insane power come from?

Fantastic technique. He doesn't just throw with his arms, his lats and back muscles are generating a lot of his power. You can see how much torque he generates just looking at his back and how he turns his body into the shots.

This combination here is mind boggling if have experience in boxing, kick boxing or any kind of striking discipline.

The way he can throw strikes while closing the distance and still be in perfect stance, perfectly balanced to throw fight ending strikes is absolutely insane. He threw that right hand, did a little hop and was already in perfect stance to land another right hand with KO power that Volk didnt see coming at all. Usually when you close distance like that your feet are all over the place. His feet are always planted its crazy.

The only one that comes to mind in MMA is prime Vitor and even Vitor was sloppy and would be off balanced a lot. Ilia has figured it out man. His moves are so efficient and calculated. Hes such a treat to watch fight if you love striking. And whats crazy is hes main martial arts discipline growing up was wrestling

Easily 75% of UFC have KO punch power. They all wear 4oz gloves. It’s not some miracle. Bloody casuals.

Correct base, uses his legs for power, compact punches that land on target. His speed is excellent, his height allows him to reach the chin from underneath. He does a lot of small things correct that maximize his punching power.

His shorter stature and lower center of gravity enables him to maintain balance quicker between movements and efficient footwork

Kinetic chaining is the key.

Ilia does a great job anchoring to the ground and pivoting with his hips and shoulders. Plus he throws very compact strikes with speed and accuracy.
I dont understand why we don’t see more baseball bros

Hes not the only short fighter in the UFC lol. You gotta have some experience with boxing, kick boxing and stuff to understand the nuances and how impressive he is at maintaining his balance and leverage to throw punches while moving forward and closing distance.

Agreed but then it all depends on the person's natural body coordination and athleticism. Some people are just born with better coordination. Thats why I always believe in the old boxing saying " punchers are born not made ".

he’s mastered the technique generating force from his thick legs and from the hip. He studied lots of videos from Canelo

Yet Jack Dempsey always said power punching is all technique.

Coordination is such a blanket term, not all power punchers are great athletes in the traditional sense.

Proper mechanics, good timing and shot placement etc. Hes pretty explosive too.

Hes just an exceptionally good boxer by MMA standards, so he gets to chins clean.
