Social Where did we go wrong?

Yeah, but by the time my two brothers and my educations, it ended up not being that much. My mom eventually had to get a job in the 90s when that same 200k did not go as far. Again, sports athletes are worth more than doctors, teachers, and first responders if you combined all of them. It’s an area that our society is fucking backwards as is the thread concept.
Idk man — it’s basically the equivalent of earning 600-700k a year in today’s money. Either he wasn’t earning 200k or he had some kind of vice that you are unaware of.

I agree with you though.

No, what happened was his salary didn’t increase from that point and in the early 2000s, they tried to force him to retire and dropped his salary when a hospital bought out his clinic. So then he was making under 200.

The horror you must've endured, lets all be thankful you made it through

Jealous. Yep, I had a great life traveling all the time, private schools. I guess you’re going to have to get over it or cry about it. I wasn’t complaining about how I grew up, just that it is absurd that sports stars make more than every important job in the country-teachers, doctors, first responders. If I hadn’t had to retire, I would have finally been making great money because my old pd finally got raises, but it is still not enough for the risks that officers face and the importance of their jobs. At one point, back in the OT, you weren’t a bad guy, now you’ve become a cunt

Man and Woman makes money in capitalistic free market without breaking any laws. What’s the problem?

As a small business owner, I'd love to see her tax return. I'd love to see her expenses.

It would give a great insight into how successful business people like her grow their business.

There are hundreds of millions of hot women out there, they aren't all making $40M+ per year selling nudes.

There is a keen business mind (not necessarily hers) behind that kind of gross income.

I'd love to see how it all works.
I have a few friends in the industry and have trained more than a few SWs. Shoot me a dm and I can break down what I’ve picked up from convos over the years.
The ridiculous purses in boxing make me ill. My dad was a neurologist and in the 80s, was one of the premier ones in the eastern half of the country. He made a pittance of what professional athletes make. It always baffled me that pro sports make so much money while doctors make a couple hundred thousand. It’s pathetic where we put our priorities in this country.
If millions of people want to spend their money watching two guys fight, what’s the problem with sharing that money with the guys fighting? Purses are directly tied to how much income a fight generates.

Just because doctors are under paid doesn’t mean that boxers are over paid. You’re mad at the wrong people, comrade. If the health care system can bilk me by charging 50 bucks for an aspirin, 700 bucks to drain a cauli ear, (something our front desk girl is trained and pretty adept at) then be mad at a system that’s generating massive profits for the execs
At the top of the ladders and not the ones working

point. I wasn’t that rich growing up. For what my dad did, he was making around 200/year
Bud, yes you were. It’s ok, no shame in it but that’s a shit ton of money in the 80s. Yes I understand your private school tuition cut into that and you weren’t rich by private school standards, but that is a choice your family made (a good one judging by the way you write. You’re clearly a smart dude with a strong handle on language and creative non fiction).

I didn’t even get started on ceo pay, so you made a good point there. That and the wealth politicians can amass or had prior to politics is not germaine to how average person lives, or better said, survives. Some ceo pay is exorbitant compared to the other employees and society in general. I guess my point is that the way our society is set up and has progressed is that the extremely wealthy continue to amass more money than entire regions of the country salaries combined. And thanks for the compliments-that’s rare around here.

I'm guessing the real dweebs are the ones that pay to watch men in shorts play b-ball or in their underwear wrestlefuck each other

<6>

Oh noes the womenfolk are doing the capitalism and there's a market for what they're doing!!

This is absolutely the downfall of civilization!!!

Choosing between the two, tits or playing ball, I'd much rather stare at tits.
Wadda ya know. We agree on something. I wouldn't pay money for either past time.

loser men, as usual.
paying even a cent for online porn automatically makes you a forever loser.
I'd say the same thing about people who pay money to watch ball and watch people talk about ball (any kind.)

There has been a historical study of ancient and medieval societies, and fanciful food and famous chefs consistently was one of the signals for the upcoming downfall of such society. Couldn't find it.

I guess it's the "me, me, me" mentality that drives demand for culinary extravagance and nonsensical treatment of nourishment.
Apparently, no society can continue flourishing when everyone is a "me, me, me" person.
Try telling that to North American conservatives.

I'm gonna assume you didn't go to school for criminal justice and the cop thing was a backup plan

Yeah, I've been in the WR for a while and @nhbbear 's posts haven't exactly screamed "son of a brilliant neuroscientist." Something went extremely awry in that household, imo.

But maybe that's just me.

I'm not even saying it to be insulting either. I sadly did go to school for CJ and most of my professors had a plan A and being a cop is what happened when that didn't work out. I was more or less commenting on the price of his education being factored into why his dad's salary was stretched thin. CJ is not an expensive major and most departments don't even require a degree, just 60 credits.
