Ronda clean out her division. You can call it weak or not but thatd another topic. Tate has 4 fight winning streak why not have a third fight. If cain vs jds did a rubber match why can't ronda. Beside by next year cyborg will be fighting ronda.

Cain vs JDS had a rubber match because they were 1-1 and handed each other mild concussions while doing it, "Cupcake" Tate is 0-2 and hasn't even remotely been competitive with Ronda.

We all know the UFC needs to protect its cash cow. As long as they keep her as the big fish in the small pond all is well.
 
If a woman is the one on the roster getting most of the buzz then your sport has a serious problem. Women fighters arent known for longevity. Ronda already running dry on opponents. When Ronda either loses or fades away into motherhood or Hollywood then what does UFC have to fall back on.

How are they protecting her when she fought all the top contenders in her division. Tate also the only fighter to make it out the first round with ronda. Cyborg will fight ronda bu next year.
 
Will double PPV buys from last year, ratings are up, just had best summer Fox ratings, FS1 ratings are all up, Ronda and McGregor are stars.

Next year UFC 200, Silva will be back, Jones should be back, we could finally see Fedor in UFC, Ronda/Cyborg could happen, GSP might come back.

Next year can be even bigger but being the fight business that relies on names/stars/healthy fighters things can change from year to year.

Last year was bad, this year is very good, next could be bigger.

They will offer jon jones an insane amount of money to come back and probably promote a few other fighters.
 
It's not a gimmick to push Ronda and Conor, it's merely a new tactic. They NEVER pushed GSP or Silva that hard (they didn't have to), but can you imagine if they did? Maybe it's Zuffa finally getting smart about promotion...

Without a doubt, that PPV will sell 150k tops and probably do the lowest UFC Vegas PPV gate in years or ever.

Gonna be hard to say UFC is dying when McGregor/Aldo and Ronda/Tate are coming up, two PPV that will each do a million buys or more.

I evidently don't follow WMMA as closely as you do. If she's being protected, who do you propose besides cyborg that is a worthy challenger and better than these girls?
 
I'm not a UFC is dying guy but can you imagine what this year would look like if either Ronda or McGregor got injured? 2014 was all about injuries and the UFC has gotten pretty lucky this year that their big draws havent been having injury problems. Heck, even Cain fought this year.

So they haven't had trouble this year with fighters mainly the top 2 p4p fighters testing positive

But it peaked in 09

It is a niche sport and always will be

Heck even zuffa know this and that's why they are cashing in

And like I've always said and soon will be proven right

Soon after 200 they'll sell up. Perfect time before certain fighters go, or do you guys really think they are going to sell up in 10 years... Lol

Who gives a shit if it peaked in US years ago?

on track for third biggest PPV year ever, Ronda is the biggest mainstream star they've ever had, they have expanded and are bigger worldwide than they were in 09 and thats with losing Jones and Silva for the rest of the year.

So to you its either dead or has to be the biggest its ever been? There is no middle ground? Kind of sounds like thats what your saying.

Its having a great year bu but it peaked in US years ago. Ok, cool.

Nothing against Cyborg but she still proves my point about women lacking longevity at the top. We've already seen Cyborg rise and fall as the face of WMMA. Christy Martin , Laila Ali, Gina Carano's stars didnt burn bright for long either. Ronda wont last much longer. UFC will be in trouble when Ronda loses or moves on with other life pursuits.

At this point if ronda loses it won't make a difference. She still have fans following her. Like how Fedor lost to werdum

Don't forget bringing a WWF wrestler back after a 4 year hiatus from the sport and giving him an instant shot at the Light Heavyweight title over a top contender that had cleaned out the division. Oh yeah, that fight basically kickstarted a boom that led to MMA FINALLY getting on cable TV.

It's crazy that people still don't really get what this sport is about after all of these years. Where have some of you guys been? It's ALWAYS been this way!
 
UFC as it was in all it's glory is dead, it's a pseudo sport entertainment company now.

Yeah, she is popular but let's not pretend she is a huge ppv star when we can't find or know the real figures

Oh wait, are we going to go by the Google searches and trends on twitter, must mean that they all actually ordered the PPV, right?
