because they've conditioned their audience to watch UFC on saturdays, and New Years is usually not on Saturday.
 
Been about three four years for this. Either you are casual, have trouble paying attention to patterns, or have memory issues. You could have goggled this btw.

In 2018 there was a card on the 29th (Jones vs Gustafsson 2), and in previous years an end of year card was common.

I guess they didn't want to make fighters spend Christmas cutting weight.
 
Feels like everything after Fury Usyk 2 went silent. Not just UFC, but there's really nothing. I don't remember being so long without combat sports last year. Maybe UFC execs wanted an extended holiday.
