When Prime Brock Lesnar fought 45yo LHW

Watching it again, and it felt like Couture fighting for his life with Brock really in control with an inevitable finish in his mind. And it eventually came.

-Randy weighed in at 220 pounds
-Brock cut down to 265, to rehydrate to 290
-Randy was 45 years old olympian and D1.
-Brock was 31 and D1, with more than 60 pounds weight advantage.
-Way before USADA. Brock's piss was melting the bathrooms.
-Randy was winning the fight until he got caught.
-Randy took Brock down and stuffed couple of take downs.
-Impressed at how Randy was pinning the Mountain against the fence. I wonder how Brock felt when he couldn't get off the fence, while fighting such an old man who was several weight classes lighter.
-Rogan had hair. Yea.

-Randy weighed 15 pounds over the LHW limit.
-Brock was hindered by having to cut 25 pounds.
-Randy had the experience of 10 years and 21 more MMA fights than Brock.
-Brock was inexperienced and had a speed disadvantage due to size.
-Way before USADA. Randy's piss was melting the bathrooms.
-Randy was losing the fight then got finished.
-Brock KO'd Randy with next to no striking experience.
-Impressed at how Brock dominated with so little experience. I wonder how Randy felt when he got KO'd by someone with only 3 fights under their belt and next to no striking ability.

this is a very crucial point, that I think made all the difference. The fight would've gone differently if Brock didn't cheat in this manner.

Absolutely...that fight was over if Randy hit that takedown..brock was getting overwhelmed and likely would of been stopped on the ground by randy or would of been tired from that point on having survived randys attack on the ground...

Will always respect Lesnar for jumping into the deep end immediately. Dude only ever had 1 tune up fight and the rest were against some killers.

well said mate. While I think people hugely overrate him the opposite is obviously true. Yeah he ended up getting his arse kicked but he gave it a go, and easy path or not giving it a go he faced tough competition and won a title. I’ve resisted for a while because I don’t like the guy but I have to admit respect is due, regardless of any reason you can use to discredit him.

Randy was coming off wins over Gonzaga and Big Tim Sylvia. Get outta here.

With the benefit of hindsight you can devalue practically every ufc title win but the facts are that with incredibly limited mma experience and training Brock beat the ufc heavyweight champion which is an amazing achievement.

This fight only makes Couture look more like a badass. He was outweighed by a comical margin and yet wrestled and gave Brock problems.

Enjoy the fight.

Randy did good considering the circumstances. Brock was inexperienced but the odds of Randy out wrestling him was low. Awesome fight and I miss those times.

This was the fight that these clown sites put Lesnar above Fedor in the rankings and Fedor hadn't even lost a fight yet.

Cry some more.

He knocked (3x HW champ, 2x LHW champ) Randy out in his fourth fight.

I saw randy jerk off and he wasn’t in his prime

Gotta respect Brock for not backing down from a fight. I mean who the hell would want to fight prime uberReem.

News flash for all those saying "pre usada"... The majority of the fucking ufc roster was on roids....Jesus people

Imagine Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin pre-USADA where BOTH are on mega steroid doses? Would be epic

Randy couture is a notorious ped user himself. He was on every drug there was when he fought Chuck.
