BJ Penn was still a former WW champion, and motherfucker also fought Lyoto "Karate Kid" Machida at 185 lbs I think. And let's not play that game, because most current/former champions fought "bloated opponents".
Most of Silva's and Jones better wins fought at one point or another in a lighter weight class too.
