When GSP beat Hendricks :

He came back for one cherry picked fight against a one eyed 39 year old. He was gassing in the 3rd before the left hook
GSP won the fight, won the belt, double UFC champ...those are the facts. There are 25 minutes in a championship fight and I'm pretty sure you can have ups and downs and are still eligible to win the fight. Anderson Silva was getting his ass-kicked by Chael Sonnen for 4.5 rounds and then got a triangle armbar locked-in late during R5. Anderson Silva wins, Chael Sonnen loses and Silva keeps the MW belt. See how that works???

Anderson Silva finished that fight, he didn't go 25 minutes and get the win gifted to him by the judges

If only TS could change 10 point scoring system to how a fighter looked post fight.

GSP submitted Bisping for his second UFC belt which means it didn’t go to the judges. However GSP would have been leading on points if he didn’t finish the RNC. How the balance of the fight would have played-out is uncertain.

you didnt answer the question, and that's still speculation although a ton of signs point to it, I think he most likely was, but you can't say he was roided out. we gotta be fair.

I didn't say he roided. I just said he refused to undergo additional testing, even the one he proposed.

Bisping got up and won the following rounds. In no way this could have been scored a stoppage. Silva never would have had the time to throw another striker before the buzzer.
Lol he didn't get to his feet until 20 seconds after being knocked down, that is absolutely grounds for a stoppage.

Just because you think you can't side with Silva because you're a GSP fan doesn't mean you can't call it like it is.

It was evidently NOT a stoppage as evidenced by Bisping coming strong in the 4th and 5th. Not to mention the cheap shot strike when Bisping was talking to Herb Dean who wasn't doing his job properly.

Let's stick to the facts and not fantasies.

Sure lets do that.. Lets talk about some facts.. GSP is regarded as the GOAT by countless fighters, members of the media, and fans.. Including right here on this very forum son.. Yeah 35%..

https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/all-time-goat-poll.3916359/page-175

Maybe you need a new forum..

You are talking about a BORING fighter with the worst finish rate of the champions who held the title for about 10 defenses.

Wow.. Well for a fighter that is so Boring, surely his buy rates and ticket sales must have been in the toilet during his career? I mean who would show up to watch this boring fighter with his boring ass style? BUT in his career outside of Conor, GSP is the all time career PPV King. In that era it was GSP, and Brock..

GSP was far more active than Brock.. GSP/Diaz, GSP/Condit, GSP/Kos 2, GSP/Hardy, Co-Main event UFC 100, GSP/BJ Penn 2 all did 700 thousand buys or more, with some approaching or exceeding 1 Mil.. So for a fighter so boring.. What's up with that? Seems he was an MMA Superstar. The UFC sure sold him that way.. Maybe you weren't watching then..

About a guy who tapped to strikes to a vastly inferior smaller opponent (unless you accept that GSP and Serra are at the same level - what a paradox!!). Just tapping to strikes to Serra makes your wet dreams of seeing your favorite guy as "the greatest fighter to ever live" a joke. He is also a guy who preyed on smaller and physically weaker opponents and has ONE fight under USADA.

This immature and very old argument shows your immaturity as a fan. It is okay for fighters to tap out to armbars, that at worst causes a break that heals up fine.. But not cool to tap out to repeated blows to the head that could cause CTE... Something we did NOT know much about 15 years ago, but we sure do now.. So you should know better.. On top of which, fighters like BJ Penn criticized GSP for tapping out to strikes.. Then what did BJ Penn do in the rematch? Oh yeah he quit in the corner.. So is that better? Quitting in the corner? Help me out here?

What makes him so great? The quality with which he never finished his most important bouts? How he lost to Hendricks and RAN AWAY FROM THE SPORT with USADA lurking in the horizon?

He's 26-2 overall with the 2 losses avenged.. GSP won 13 title fights in his career, including 9 defenses of his WW title, (Most all time), and went up to win the MW Belt.. Pretty stellar Resume.. GOAT Like.. That's why he leads the Sherdog Poll..

We just saw Tony Fergusson dealing with an armlock that would have GSP quitting the sport altogether. Don't bring up your man crush in the GOAT talk because it looks ugly. He tapped to strikes to Serra.

Yawn.. More immature babble from you.. GSP got beat up by Hendricks, and never quit.. Got beat up in fight 1 with BJ and never quit... Got head kicked by Condit and nearly TKO'd, never quit.. Surely you can do better.. Fighters lose. It happens. It is how you respond to the loss.. After GSP lost to Serra he went 13-0.. And became maybe the GOAT..

The MW title? He said he would defend the belt if he won. He could have taken the time to treat his problem, there were many options. He chose to ran away, just like he ran away from the sport when it got tough. He just knew Bisping was an injured Gazelle he could prey upon. Gastelum (and Bisping's career altogether) prove it.

You are completely delusional and GSP fans are simply the worst fans out there.

If anyone earned the chance to pick and choose what they wanted to do at the end of their career it was GSP.. He won the MW belt, and the bitterness boiled over.. Maybe one day you will get over it.. But probably not..

That is completely irrelevant and that wasn't a cheap shot.

When the round ends and a fighter has just been dropped by a massive strike and it takes them 20 seconds to get to their feet, the fight should be stopped, it's really that simple.

And how long did it take him to get up?

About 15 seconds as he was talking to Herb Dean the whole time.. He wasn't lying on his back staring at the lights. What is up with your aversion to fighters being given a chance to show their heart? Bisping won the fight.. We want fighters to show heart.. And when they do... You complain about the ref. Jesus man..

The cap on the most overrated bloated mythical legacy. The fans of this guy will do anything to legitimize his pedestrian opponents. When finally beating an almost 40 year old matt Hughes, bj out of his division, josh 0-6 all by ko Koscheck, thiago 6-10 alves, Carlos 2-9 condit, Dan .500 hardy and matt journeyman LW serra constitutes a goat legacy then maybe Bob aram is right about mma.

when I watched it live, I had Johnny winning....I laughed when they called it for Georges ((being canadian ofc Im a St Pierre fan)) and then I completely lost any sort of empathy I had with Hendricks when he was going on at the post fight presser about 70% and stupid shit when he came out to sniff jock in that 5th round....much like he went on to do against Lawler x2

If people were so adamant Hendricks won they wouldn't post threads about it on a weekly basis.

You're only convincing yourselves it was more one sided than it actually was.

Avoiding CTE, losses avenged to bloated LWs, Bingo - you are a deranged GSP fanboy.

It doesn't matter if he was talking to Herb, he couldn't get up. I don't know many fighters that protest a "stoppage" from their ass.

Herb's job is to protect the fighters. At that moment immediately after a huge knee while the fighter can not get to their feet in 15-20 seconds, he should have stopped the fight. The "what if" argument is completely irrelevant.

And I'm all for fighters showing their heart, but when you can't get up after the round has ended, the ref needs to stop the fight.

Definitely wasnt a cheap shot.

Also definitely didnt take him 20 seconds to get up.

Also, you forgot he was so affected by that Silva shot that he went and won the next round.

look at the comment i first responded to. why'd you reply to it then? my point isn't relevant with you. a commeter said big rigg was juiced as if it were fact. my point to him was you're just speculating seeing as he did not pop, and while we're speculating what are your thoughts do you believe gsp was clean his entire ufc career. i still never got an answer to that question. do you think gsp was clean his entire ufc career?
