News When did PPV's become not worth the money for you?

I have no issues paying for the entertainment I enjoy in life. Guess I’m in the minority here that isn’t streaming for free but still paying the fee.

"The change, which marks the third price hike since the UFC struck a broadcast deal with ESPN, was announced on Thursday by Neo Media World, a marketing agency affiliated with the network. "

"One year ago, the Disney-owned ESPN announced that beginning with UFC 257, UFC pay-per-view prices would be raised to $64.99 from the previous price of $59.99."

They lost me passing the $60 price point.

I used to buy UFC PPV's all the time. I would either pay and watch them myself or invite a few friends over and split the cost. I first got salty when they introduced ESPN+ and you had to be a monthly subscriber to buy PPV's but I subscribed and still bought the occasional PPV. Then they just kept increasing the cost again and again on top of finding out that the most fighters don't see a fraction of the money and I lost interest in buying PPV any more. It's like when they raise taxes to a certain point that you just find ways to get around paying taxes, I got to that point with MMA PPV whether it's UFC or the organization that I posted the link for, the BKFC. If you exceed a certain price point people will just look for better ways to steal your product.
Untill they remove the goddamn live tweets, and other shit that pops up and interrupts my viewing experience, they will not get a single cent from me.

Half joking, half serious. Fuck those live tweets.

I've never bought a PPV. In the old days I had a direct TV hack that had PPV for free and I have been streaming since around UFC 45 on.

I've seen all but one or two PPVs and never paid for one

Probably around the 75 price point. Maybe sooner. I just stream now when I am home and can. Sometimes I go to the bar with a buddy and pay the 10 bucks if it's a big fight.

1. Pay for cable just to get ESPN+, or pay for internet service
2. Pay for ESPN+
3. Buy PPV

When I could watch the events in a sports bar for only the cost of dinner. So, always.

I've bought every ppv since I discovered MMA and I will continue to do so no matter the cost. The enjoyment it brings to my life, even in between events, and the immersion into the sport, as well as the feeling of being one of members of the elite portion of society make it worth multitudes more than the price tag of each PPV.

ppv is an obsolete business model, wwe figured this out and went subscriber based,
