When Did Going Out For Drinks or Partying Die Out?

Even in my late 20's, early 30's when we were at the peek of our game and balling in the Toronto night scene, i was the guy ready to go home by 1am. But more often than not, my friends were dragging me to the After Hours Clubs, as the legal bar drinking closed down. Getting home as 6am, many nights was very much the norm.

For you personally? - I'm 32 now and I'm certainly down for a night out still. There are workers and friends younger than I who call it a night, around midnight if we're doing a late shift or even at a big time gala Premiere party (I work for Toronto Film Festival) and will just ditch out.

It was never so tame a decade ago. The company would be renting the clubs and bars out for the hell of it and those who were invited would go and we'd be messed up drinking for free, singing karaoke and doing drugs until the wee hours. What gives these days - has the world gotten softer? <DCrying><mma3>
I'm 53 and still love a drink but going out is so ridiculously expensive prefer to drink at home. Can buy a box of beer for about same price as 2 drinks in a bar. No brainer really, especially when you have kids to support.

When people realized the effort wasn't worth the reward. You can spend a lot less money just drinking at home either by yourself or with the friends you would have went out with. Whats the purpose of being price gouged in a building with loud music?
Internet porn, dating apps, and escorts probably fixed that. It was always so that men could have the honor of sticking our dicks in some skank.

After your 20s it's definitely time to bow out.

A 37 year old getting blackout drunk, key bumping MDMA and rubbing up on uncomfortable college girls does more to kill a party than improve it.

Also, it was easier to party when an hour of minimum wage bought 2 rounds at the bar. $8 drafts and $15 cocktails don't make for a great party scene.

Studies have shown that younger people are drinking less and smoking more of that herb
It is going to be interesting in the next 20-30 years if we start seeing a rise in lung disease and cancer given it contains many of the same things as tobacco (to a lesser extent).

The young kids are vaping it and/or eating edibles

Been a lot of studies already saying vaping isn't particularly good for your lungs either. Turns out putting anything other than oxygen in your lungs is probably not good.

Probably but safer than smoking it

Stricter DUI laws killed off the late night shitcockery. Nobody's trying to lose their license and catch a 10k fine for a night out.

Good point.

It's crazy how wildly popular Uber and Lyft have become in the last decade. Makes you wonder WTF people were doing before these apps existed. They sure as fuck weren't taking taxis.

They were driving drunk like crazy is the only realistic answer.

vaccines rushed into action years ahead of the safety protocols is totally fine though

literally 80% of people did it

Probably Covid, getting older and the night life scene dying in general at least in my city. I’ve been partying since I was 16 with a fake ID. Between the ages of 23 after graduating college and up to age 36 I would usually go out twice a week sometimes up to 4 days a week to the bars/clubs/lounges/raves/house parties. I feel like the night life really died down in my area about 8 years ago.

Now I’m 40 and tired and would rather be at the gym club, eat some good food and sleep. Besides all my friends are married and or divorced with kids.

Those E-bomb mentions bring back fond yet scary memories. Thing is you can control a Molly high based upon the size of your dip/moon rock you take. When it comes to taking a double or triple stack pill … it was prepare to roll your fucking ass off.

one day you should post the big hd version of this shit, world deserve it
