when did comedy central become controlled by liberal agendas.

Hollywood and the entertainment industry in general seem incapable of making adjustments to their compass. As it becomes increasingly apparent that their social engineering theories have gone too far, and are now contributing to an unjust social mindset rather than curing one, they are simply doubling down on it, and just sailing off into the sunset.

It's making them mincemeat for a simpleton like Trump. Yet they're so confident because going to the "racism" well has paid off for them for so long that they are unwilling to let it go. Yet each day they taint it more and more with false arguments rather than maintaining proportion and purity (ex. you're "racist" if you don't like Islam).

They're just sailing off into the sunset. They clearly won't come to grips with reality until power is brutally yanked from their breast.

I would like to see someone on Comedy Central satirizing Islam.

King of the Hill was pretty balanced in satirizing liberals and conservatives. Along with Breaking Bad, only show I've watched the last decade.

was the daily show always a liberal propaganda piece? makes me puke literally. you can tell they have the new guy and wilmore by the balls.
The Daily Show has been that way for most of its existence, its just that Jon Stewart wasn't a complete partisan hack and he was actually funny so his show had some value aside from the political commentary. Trevor Noah is not nearly as funny so the the unapologetic liberal commentary is more obvious.

I can totally see conservative comedy becoming a major force in our society:

because conserva-bores are not funny.

people today dont realize how much music...dress...cinema....literature and pretty much everything enjoyable os due to liberal policies.

even racist right wing music comes from liberal rock n roll.

jazz....clasical composers like mozart...bethoveen...

all from a liberal enviroment.

hating liberalism today is like fad with most of its followers not knowing what they are really against.

kind of like right wing punk rock...WTF?????

it was punk liberals that made it cool to even have green hair lol

SNL is going in the exact same direction...it's been getting pretty annoying lately.
Yeah it's made it even more unwatchable than usual. I usually don't mind these kinda things but SNL has been overdoing it.

I think about 1-2 years into John Stewart's Daily Show reign. They quickly learned the value ($$$) when the show got popular.

This thread belongs in the Drumpf.

And good comedy has always had a liberal edge, and has for my whole life positioned itself toward the far left of the day, because that POV is where all the funny is.

Ever since the right decided to make themselves such easy targets for ridicule and satire.

Yeah, it's funny that anyone would think there's some kind of organized campaign. Comedians--going back to Voltaire--tend to be on what would be considered the left, by the standards of their society.

To expand on this a little, comedians have a tendency to mock pretensions and the existing order, while the right is driven by devotion to that order and fear of outside forces. In a mob-rule-type setting, a comedian can make fun of the stupidity of the mob, which could be taken in different ways. But you're not going to have many funny people talking about how great religion and rich people are.

CTism is close to the WR's official religion, and it's just as irrational as any other.

And yes, the Daily Show was always a liberal propaganda piece.

The difference was that Stewart was actually funny, and that they actually made fun of conservatives for doing stupid things, not just because they are conservative.

In that past, for example, Stewart might air a segment on Fox news anchors repeatidly the same factually incorrect thing, or contradicting themselves, or he might show George Bush mispronouncing a word at an embarrassing time, and everyone would laugh at their gaff.

Now, whoever that new host is will just show a clip of a conservative sayings something like "I am pro life" or "I believe immigration costs taxpayers money", and then the audience will just boo and hiss.

It happened openly around 2000 or so. I don't even watch TV anymore. ALL of it is Liberal propaganda. You can't even watch late night TV shows anymore without it. At least back in the late 90's they used to make fun of both sides. I don't give two shits what Jimmy Kimmel's political opinions are. He apparently isn't really worthy of "The Man Show".

All mainstream entertainment media has an agenda, this just happens to be the flavor of the moment, cant say i like the taste either

Since 2003 or 2004 is "lately" for you?
Are you talking about their liberal views, or the quality of their skits?

As for their views on current events, they've been laying it on pretty thick the last couple of seasons.

Quality of their skits. Pretty much every relevant actor they had left by 2004.

Of course Hollywood is liberal. Just think of who is a part of that culture. Do you seriously think they are going to side with the "stick up their ass" party? Republicans are the most stuck up, socially delayed party around. The hardcore Christians are part of the right. The racists are part of the right. Trump is on the right.

The left might have some poor economic ideas, but they are on the correct side of the argument socially.
