When Ankalaev comes with the intention to take you down and dominate you on the ground ( Jan, Krylov, Santos, Nemkov), he does that without problems

He's not a wrestler, he's a striker that in moments where the fight isn't going his way will look for TDs. His wrestling only becomes effetive when his opponents are fatigued.

Krylov he went 3 for 9 and didnt get the TDs till later in the fight and was strugling early. Jan he went he went 2 for 10 and his wrestling didn't become effective till Jan gassed, he was desperate to get the fight down cause his legs were gone and struggled hard to get Jan down first 3 rounds. And Santos was a kickboxing bout.

LOL, Ankalaev went 2 for 10 on TDs and he struggled to get Jan down. In round 3 after he was hurt I remember him trying so hard and failing on almost every TD attempt.
