Why was an actor/ comedian who previously didn't even speak Ukrainian implanted as the president? Wasn't the previous regime much more pro Russian?

Just so you know the language he spoke was Russian. His family are native Russian speakers. The characterization that he didn't speak Ukranian as a slight on him is rhetoric. A lot of Ukrainians are native Russian speakers. And you dont hear anyone screaming about him being an "ethnic Russian."

Orwell was a socialist, and the capitalist actions of Yeltsin, as well as the illegal dissolving of the USSR would have made him sick. Again, stick to terms you know the meaning of.

So he changed the name of a place, they can decide to call it Gulf of the Caribbean next year and if that's it's new name then that's it's new name.
