Reagan was a great man though, great speaker. I remember this speech, I was just a kid but I think people born after this don't really get how the threat of nuclear annihilation was very real. We had many close calls. When I was in elementary school, we still did weekly air raid drills, sometimes they'd have us hide under our desks, other times we had to go into the basement.

The left has brought some of that back to us, its not really real to you yet, but it should be.

As for America being great, you'd have to go back to at least the 60s for that. Everything since then has been de-industrialization, financializing the shit out of everything, and destroying social cohesion & trust with a bunch of poorly thought out policies.
