It's a rebirth of sorts a self baptism to acknowledge a new start, in my 20's for about 5yrs every new year I would shave my head down to the wood saying new year, new hair new roots to start. Or he just wants to look as cold as f*k!

Besides sporting a new look, personally I think it's for him to avoid friction in clinches coz he knows DC will try to grab hold of him (neck or head) and he can slip out of it easily. There are times where little things can affect big time in a fight. That's just me. I mean he's not (yet) balding isn't he?

That's a very good theory. In the first fight DC was able to clasp onto Jones' head and throw his best shots in that dirty boxing/clinch position. Mostly uppercuts. With a shaved head it may be easier for Jones to slip away from DC's grip
