People here are obsessed with it. We have languages law, you have to make your billboards with the french language bigger than the English. Radios have quotas of French songs. People still write like shit, the level of language here is very poor.

Still, I just wanted the opinions of some non-native speakers, what do you think about when you think about French language ?

It's a lovely language. The quotas and regulations about songs and billboards seems a bit extreme, but those are dings against the government, not the language.

It's an attractive language. Intend to get around to learning it eventually.

La vien Rose in its original French is beautiful , a friend of mine speaks it fluently there is an elegance to it.

I'd like it more if every single French person ive known wasn't a tool.

I find the French to be highly unlikable. I work with a few of them and they are overly sensative and complain constantly. They also whisper when they talk to each other in French. It's strange.

I love French girls, and I love to draw them.

Yup, I think it's extreme as well. The newest is you have to have something in French in your shop name. So let's say you're Best Buy, you have to call yourself ''les magasins Best Buy'' (The best buy shops) or something like that. I think that keeping our language is not going to be helped by these things, but by making sure our education system teaches good French to youngsters. And it does not.

I heard that, I always wonder, people say a French accent is attractive, but is an French Canadian accent attractive ? It's very different in English, see GSP vs any guy from France.

Haven't watched it yet, I'm not that big of a France cinema fan. I'll do though.

French always complain. I wondered abou the language though, not the French people (French is vastly spoken, France is a minority, Just like the English people with English)

Draw me like one of your French dudes.

Good lingity- i wish i spoke it more betterer.

That said, honestly I don't hold language as sacred as a lot of people. For sure you lose some things when a language goes extinct, but i think you gain a lot the more people can at least communicate in a lingua franca (no pun intended), and clearly that's English by a country mile.

I don't really have an opinion one way or theories about the language, seems fairly simple to understand when the French are speaking if you know a little bit not as easy as Spanish.

Most French people I know complain about having to speak English all the time so they latch on to other French speakers weather they are from Quebec or Morocco or wherever.

It's a nice language. Took it for 7 years throughout junior high and high school, but still wish I took Spanish instead because nobody speaks French where I'm at.

I love the language though. Being very near to the Belgian border, I can get several Wallonian (French speaking Belgian) radio channels in the car and I love listening to some of them. Those French speaking female DJs are smooth and sensual as can be. Love France the country too.

They complain about speaking in English ? Do they speak it !?

I think it is made up. It's just backwards Italian.

We're cover ups Italian with baguette instead of Pizzas.

Yeah they speak it but like the second they meet somebody who speaks French they get all gay on each other and complain about always having to speak English.

They're fucked up. English is great because it's simple. People learn it quickly, making it a great language for international affairs. I love it when I travel and me and the person I'm talking with are not native English speakers but talk in English as a middle ground. It gives us a mean to connect and share experiences.

Its cool and sounds fucking brilliant on a chick.

And they fucking whisper to each other....not really whispering but talking so quietly it's really strange. Europeans are strange I guess.

They take what they want from the USA while complaining about the rest.

TS, are you speaking about French from France? Or French Canadian? Both are very different, as I assume you know considering your username.

I am from British Columbia and moved to Quebec City 5 years ago. I am bilingual, but have a very difficult time speaking to/understanding French people from France. The dialect is Quebec, in my opinion, is much more enjoyable than it is in France.

All the French people I work with are notorious for whining and complaining alot. It is very annoying. They all for the most part have this trait.
