I personally like this slide. Not crazy on the holes but still some.

I can get ZEV slides from RSR . . . just don't care to spend over $400. Guess I'll just grab one from Lonewolf when they come back in stock and drill the front sight if need be . . . ugh

Just checked . . . out of stock. :)

i don't think they've even come out yet. I know lipseys and davidsons usually say out of stock when they don't even have any yet.

I saw it with a few guns I've got in the past.

DVOR has had them for a pretty good price. I just don't feel like spending well over 1k+ on a glock when I can get a m&p pro series/performance center C.O.R.E(and optic and apex) or Sig Rx + apex trigger for under 1k.

Fuck that is ridiculous, I guess it's a con of living way out there.

Yeah there's a few setbacks to living out here. Getting back down to the lower 48 especially where my family is (NM, AZ) is a haul. Also with the limited road system it can be harder to get stuff, you can get it but the cost is driven up by airmiles.

It's all good though, a few years out here on the peninsula and I'll move to the road system somewhere.....maybe. I actually like it out here a lot, I'm right in the middle of some of th best hunting and fly fishing on the planet and once my residency happens, I'll be able to hunt tons.

We get compensated for being out here but yeah it sucks when there's somewhere you want to go and you start checking for airfsre.

Sometimes it's. It bad, a few weeks ago I flew from kokhanock to king salmon then to anchorage and just gave the guy a bottle of laphroaig (he was making the flight anyways).

Other than being able to head out to reataraunts, I don't really miss the city.

Edit to add: I don't need that many guns out here and having all of them up here would make me look bad, my salary is literally 5-10x what loacals make, most guys here fish in the summers and make 20-30k and live on it the rest of the year so flashing around fancy stuff out here dosent win you any points. I actually put a piece of electrical tape over the orvis logo on my fly rods.

You still have your Raptor?

You still have your Raptor?

It's in anchorage. I pay like 50 bucks a month to store it. When I'm going to town I can call thyou m and they will air up the tires and get th battery ready.

It's a pretty common thing up here for people who live in the "rural" areas. Massive car parks by the airport.

It was awesome when I got here because I had to buy like 2 thousand dollars worth of food at Walmart and cost co and take it to the post to get sent out, having the truck made it easy.

Alright yeah was just curious how it does out there.

Just went shooting today. Always meet up with my friend at a store and carpool with him in his Raptor from there. It's amazing, hitting large bumps at around 90 and flying through the air, ripping through the desert, sliding around, etc. Amazing trucks.

You know glock is releasing gen4 17 and 19s with front serrations right???

I think they are going to be distributed by lipseys.

Shit. I know they do the MOS thing now too... fffuuuu

This is essentially what I want to do:

Just have a cut in the slide to mount one of these on:

I'm partial to the front serrations because press-checking a Glock in my experience is a bitch. 1911 for some reason, at least with my Springfield I can basically press check it with one hand. My G23 not so much.

And before someone asks why I don't just take my G23 and get the slide cut and then totally forgo the need to get a second pistol... well... it's probably a dumb reason but I want to use my G23 with it's conversion barrel as my carry gun... I don't like the idea of having a souped up like Zev-tec trigger, undercuts, and red dot on a carry gun. It's just me. I'm open to opinions though on the subject.

Also, I'm so hung up on doing a red dot cut as I finally got to shoot a pistol with a red dot and I used to think it was ridiculous to have a red dot on a pistol, never mind one on a reciprocating slide. HOLY SHIT, I can shoot so much better on pistol with one of those red dots and then my buddy turned off the RMR he had on his G19 and I ran just the suppressor sights and it didn't feel like shit was in the way at all.

If my LGS had a G19 with stipple job, and say a Zev-tech slide at a decent price I'd probably jump on it and just grin and bear the holes in the slide.

Yeah man it's a fun truck for sure, I haven't had it out in the desert for a awhile but there's some sections of "highway" up here that are unpaved for hundreds of miles that I've driven on and it was awesome for that, just flying past all the other cars at like 90mph.

The car parking thing up here is sort of cool, it's super convienient and lots of insurance companies even make lower rates for people like me who are using their cars just once a month or even less than that.

There's also massive "parking" lots full of private airplanes, lots of places you just can't drive to but just a short 20 minute flight. There's even subdivisions around anchorage that have airstrips for the residents of the neighborhoods it's pretty sweet.

I have a buddy in anchorage and he has a super cub, he just takes off out of his neighborhood and flys for like 20-30 minutes, lands and catches salmon or hunts then just flies back home the next day (can't hunt on the day you fly).

Fuck, this place has gen 2 PRS stocks for $169.99. I'm really tempted but the the upgrades on the gen 3 are really nice.

Yeah, the more I look around the more I think I'll just get a Glock 19 MOS. I want to do the polymer 80 but the hassle of getting the slide and shit is chasing me away.

I'm going to stay on the lookout for one . . . at least for a while. Unless I hear of someone wanting to buy parts. :)

You...

This is a bit of a blessing in disguise for me as it is allowing me to save cash

USPS found my slide!!!

My guess is some dickhead ran off with it, realized it was completely useless as SA refuses to sell frames/parts without extremely good cause, and returned it.
