What's Your Next Purchase? V5

And? Just type 25 into the quantity.

There's no minimum or maximum for that price.
True... I just hope if I order 25 they come in somewhat of a decent shipping box and not just a jumbled mess in like packing peanuts.

Will probably order tonight or early tomorrow.

I order the 1000 at a time from them and they are stacked nice in a box with this thick paper padding type thing around them

Sweet. I'll just go buy a nice 50 cal ammo can or something and dump them all in so I don't have to keep opening and dumping the boxes out individually on my tailgate when I go shooting.

I prefer the boxes. I hate denting rounds by keeping them loose in a can. I have a bunch of mags, I'll usually load up a few mags at home and just bring a couple boxes out as well.

I will load up my mags to like 28 total so as to not put too much pressure on the plastic feed lips but I don't mind them being in a can. I don't throw my shit around to hard so it won't dent the rounds.

It's obviously easier with somthing like .45 ACP with how blunt they are but I've at least personally never had a huge issue.

I keep most ammo in the boxes, inside ammo cans. I also have a worksite storage box that's prettt much full of ammo all in boxes...it's a mess. There's no order to it. Want some 44mag??? Yeah there's a lot of it in there somewhere....

LOL

Friend of mine has a bunch of those plastic Cabela boxes... one for 9mm, one for .223, one for .308, one for 30-06.. mix of steel case and brass case in the 9mm... only issue... none of them are labelled..

Yeah my main box is like 3 feet deep and 4'x5' it's huge there's just no good way to organize it. It does keep it all secure though in the garage but if there wasnever a fire....

I use the metal ammo cans and probably have a dozen of them, I just put a piece of tape on them and write the caliber, 30-06, 308, 270, etc etc. I've been hoarding ammo for over a decade lol.

The other day I was going through some of it and I was finding boxes of 9mm and 357mag etc that had price tags on them for 5.99.....

This works for me. Some cans have ammo in boxes and some have ammo loaded into mags. Only ammo I bought loose is now all linked up.

Yeah old surplus ammo cans are awesome, I should buy some more but they are harder and harder to find these days. Back 5-6 years ago you could go to the army navy surplus store in Albuquerque where I lived and they would sell them for 5 bucks each and even cut you a deal if you bought a bunch of them.

The only other thing I do is I'll leave a note inside the boxes about what works the best for different rifles or what certain rifles are sighted in for. I don't get to anal about it.

I do need to do something about my big ammo storage box, Next house I buy I was thinking of actually building shelves just for ammo. Having it all in one big box makes it really difficult to organize in any meaningful way.

Love me some .50 cans. Seems like I'm averaging about $12-$13 per can with shipping.

I keep looking at my closet and contemplating shelving since the cans are stacked six tall and getting to one on the bottom sucks. I'd build shelves that allows cans to be stacked in pairs and continue to store all of the ammo therein.

You could make a college dormitory style shelf out of cinder bricks and boards. That's probably what I'll do. I'll do something more permanent once I get my own house but I'm not entirely sure what part of the state my work is going to put me in.

Good idea. I'm thinking something a little more pro where I can build in some other shelving too and a little bench.

Yeah I take an ammo can or two out with me but the ammo is still in boxes.

I usually go with a friend that has a raptor. 70-100+ mph through the desert, plus some bumps/hills in the dirt road that we get air on is rough on the ammo cans lol
