What's Your Next Purchase? V5

I've been wanting a Remington VersaMax for what feels like forever. I really want to be able to hunt more often, adding upland birds and waterfowl into the mix. Alas, it's not in the cards for the foreseeable future.

I do t think I want to spend Benelli $$$ but maybe something in the 1k-1500 dollar range. And in pretty sure I want it camo colored.

The M2 and Vinci is in that price range. The super black eagle 2 can be found for around $1700.

But like I said, I would seriously recommend finding a place with a large selection of them and handle them.

Browning A5, Maxus, Benelli SBE2, Vinci, Super Vinci, M2, rem versa max, Franchi intensity, Win SX3, Beretta A400, etc.

I'm interested in the browning a5 that o e seems like sort of a classic and would
Be cool in my collection and fun to shoot.

I'll get into sportsmans warehouse next time I'm in town and check them all out.

Now I'm reading about the browning cynergy....that's like a 2k shotgun.

See this is why I dont need people like my dad putting these ideas into my head.

OT: I wish hogue had some rubber grips for the ruger super bisley Blackhawk. And maybe something for the RedHawk kodiak backpacker. I think a Tyler t grip is about as close as I'll get for the kodiak backpacker.

I know this is "weapons" room but any fly fishermen in here?

Deschutes mostly, for trout and steelhead. Then I moved to the Oregon coast and lived on the Siletz for a couple years just fishing steelhead

That's badass, I grew up fishing the San Juan and creeks in northern nm with my dad. I've been to montana, Alaska several times for trips. I love it.

When I was back home in Albuquerque, on Fridays after work I'd head to the Jemez mountains and get there in time for the evening hatch then camp out. Man i miss that.

I should probably do some dry fly trout fishing again sometime.... Steelhead has ruined me for trout tho.. I'd really like to get down south, Belize, Mexico - and do some roosters, permit, tarpon, Jacks. Both of my parents (divorced) now live in Florida, I need to get down there and dial into the tarpon..

My dad goes out on the flats in Florida and Louisiana. I've never been with him but he loves it.

A few times we got dropped off in Alaska by plane and would stay for like 10-15 days camping. We got lots of stuff.

getting back on the river is one of the first things I plan on doing when I get back. Hunting is awesome but fly fishing was like a religion in my house growing up.

I grew up in the mountains, a 30 minute drive had you on creeks in the canyons that are full of rainbows and brook trout, growing up that was like 2-3 nights a week. My dad would take me to the sonic drive through in his old as Isuzu trooper and we'd head up and get ~2 hours of solid fishing in then head home.

That was a normal thing when I was growing up. My dad used to let me drink a bit of scotch too while we were out there.

Sounds great. Alaska would be ridiculous.

Along with the steelhead comes spey rods and casting, I can get the fly further than most guys can cast a spinner. Ever learn to spey cast yet?

No man I never really had the chance. The most technical stuff I did was when we would fish the San Juan trophy water, you had to like use a bead head AND a dry fly and the dry fly acted sort of like a bobber. Those fish are so picky....but huge.

Oh yea buddy, we fished droppers on the Deschutes all time.. I'm just a dry fly junkie when it comes to trout. My boss used to run 4-5 droppers in trail off a dry fly sometimes!

My old boss (with the goatee) and a client with a fish from Craine Prairie reservoir, where we catch 10lb trout on 5x flouro and little midge larva flies suspended under a little bobber.

Stopping at Cabelas on my way home Sunday...

Someone lock my bank account.
