Just picked up a gen 4 Glock 26 and a Walther PPQ. Holy poopballs, the trigger on this PPQ is sooo nice. Really hope they make a subcompact version of this gun.

150 bucks for a plastic stock???? Cmon ruger!!! And what's up with the build in trigger guard??? What's the trigger guard made of on the wood stock version?
I agree it's pricey for what it is, but Ruger shit has become crazy inflated in the last few years anyways, them's the breaks, I guess. The trigger guard on the wood stocked one is also plastic, doesn't really bother me, other than the fact it's wood and plastic but, meh. I really prefer stainless steel and polymer/plastic, I don't feel guilty when it gets dinged up in the bush.

The composite stock is supposed to shave like 3/4th of a pound, though.

So is the trigger guard built into the wood stock? Or is it just an extra part after you switch???

Ruger stuff is usually much cheaper than th msrp on their website when it comes to guns, not sure if you could find that stock outside of their website. I think on their website the gp100s are like 1000 dollars but in real life they can be had for 6-700 dollars all day long.

Ruger is probably my overall favorite gun company my only gripe with them is that everything is batch made so they may have it on their website, but you can't find it anywhere.

I also don't like how they discontinue so many things each year, I really want a Hawkeye in 300wm with the synthetic stock and stainless barrel....nope....discontinued.

I'd love to have their original frontier scout....nope. Discontinued. Or maybe something other than their varmint peel in 22-250....nope.

They did finally come out with the super Blackhawk 5 ahot 454casull after like 10 years of begging, and I was on that really quick.

I've had a gen3 glock 26 for like 10 years. Whenever I let people shoot it, they can't believe how accurate it is. It's one of my favorite handguns and would be one of the last to go if I ever had to get rid of handguns.

My carry gun is a gen 3 27 with a KKM 9mm barrel - Believe it or not I shoot it better than I shoot my converted 23 (also a 9mm KKM). I wanted an actual 26 so I could carry something closer to a factory firearm... I'll probably never get rid of any of them and use one to leave in the truck, one for carry, one for one bedside, one for another... will probably have to end up with an FDE or OD 26 someday too... The Glock 26 or 19 is probably the best handgun made since the 1911.

I agree, I have lots of glocks and the 19/26 are by far my favorites. You can't go wrong with either.

I used to use a g17 rtf2 with a surefire as my bedside gun. I still have it but it's just an hd gun.

Glocks are really all I have anymore as far as semi auto pistols, I tried other stuff but always wished is just gotten another glock. Unknown there's good stuff out there but for me it's glock all day. I still have a sig sauer 229 9mm that is awesome and inhave like 10 mags and a ton of spare parts for it but I don't like EDC-ing it.

A few years back I pretty much just switched to glocks and ruger revolvers. Nnt dad is a huge s&w fan of though.

Back to the 26 though, they really are fantastic guns, I may grab a gen4 when I move back to the states full time, I really like that gun. The 19 is awesome too, I have 3-4 of them including an original OD and an rtf2.

Yea buddy. This gen4 26 has surprised me and I haven't even shot it yet - I've mentioned before that I usually dremel out the finger grooves and take a heatgun to the backstrap and get it pushed flat and then stipple; With this new gen4 26 I just undercut the trigger guard and nothing else and I gotta say, I really like the factory texture and I think the hump on the gen4 backstrap isn't nearly as bad as the gen3. I may just leave this one alone besides the trigger guard.

The hump onnthenback strap has never bothered me, I see it discussed a lot but it's never been an issue for me with any glock model.

Also - In the last few months I've gone from an AR shooter who owned a few pistols to becoming competent with a handgun and now that I have a little better handle on the fundamentals I sill like smaller, skinnier grips but they're less important to me being able to shoot accurately.

The trigger guard on the laminate stock is separate.

Dude, such is the life of a Canadian gun owner; shitty laws and overpriced guns, especially with the exchange rates nowadays. I was interested when the GP 100 in .22LR came out, because I'm not entirely happy with the SP-101 as a "trainer" for the GP, but they're damned near $1000 up here and the meager stock we had up here still managed to fly off the shelves when they first showed up.

I paid like $650 for my GP 100 in .357 magnum like 4 years ago, no way in hell am I paying a premium for a lesser calibre.

Don't get me started on how expensive Glocks are up here.
