Nothing to do with hunting, shooting or slicing, but if Chesten Hesten can post it, fuck it, why can't I? So because I hate running, I'm trying to un-fatass myself and because it's my belated dirty 30 present to myself, I picked up this, while visiting family in Calgary:
It's a Trek 8.4 DS ("Dual Sport"). I haven't ridden a pedal bike since high school and my major injury was related to cycling, but I do remember really enjoying it. It's a "hybrid" bike; a bit of a crossover between a road bike but with geometry for a more comfortable, upright seating position and has a front fork suspension and wider, knobby tires like a mountain bike. These things have disc brakes, which I didn't even know was a thing for pedal bikes, until I began my research in the past few weeks.
I was initially intrigued by the idea that some people have set up "hunting bikes" and while I doubt I'll end up like this guy:
It did inspire me to get back into pedal bikes as a means of limited transportation and fitness. My goal, is to one day, be able to get to town and back, which is a 100 km round trip with a bunch of elevation changes.
