What's Your Next Purchase? V5

No but this looks sweet, except for the bulbous rubber grip:

Dig the comp with the front sight in the proper place.

The ruger 77/44 with that camo stock and stainless barrel looks sweet, that seems like a useful very portable carbine.

Picked up a XD Mod 2 45 subcompact. Was only semi interested in one but got a deal I couldn't pass up. BNIB for $450 OTD. Gonna take it to the range today and see if I'm gonna keep it.

Thinking about the FNS 40(NO safety) in stainless from PSA. PSA picture is shit so here is a better one but with a safety. $359 + free shipping and FN has a promotion of a free range bag with purchase.

I had an fnp for awhile and really really tried to love it. It shot great and looked awesome but the de cocker on it seemed really flimsy and prone to snags. Also, for whatever reason the gun took a massive beating from being shot. After ~ 500 rounds there was substantial wear and tear on the gun and apparently that was common with the fnp.

Before you buy that one look into some of the stories about them. I have heard about them not firing after sitting in the sun for awhile and the polymer softening with use and heat.

In my opinion, fnh is a rifle company. The scars are excellent and their m4s have been used extensively by the us military but their handguns always seem to come up short.

Thanks. Just looked up some reviews and there are a couple issues. The biggest issue the slide can lock up if the gun takes an impact. Not as many little issues as the FNP apparently though. Tbh I didn't really want it that much but $360 and a free nice range bag sounded tempting plus I already have 1000ish rounds.

I guess if I get an FN pistol it will be this.

Definitely not a priority but I've shot one a couple times. Tons if fun and I plan on getting one at some point.

I always thought it would be cool to have one of those with a supressor and a laser sight...

I think you can get 30 round mags for them too.

The fnp was definetly eye opening for me, at the time I got it they were all over Europe in anti terrorist teams so it was pegged as the ultimate tactical pistol...or so they said. It was the first time I'd stepped away from glock and I regretted it. Like I said, after 500 rounds the spring wear and rail wear as well as barrel lockup was really bad. And I guess that was common.

Have fun selling your seed to afford the ammo for that thing.

It's not that bad.

On PSA American Eagle goes on sale often for 13.99 per 50 rounds, $280 for 1k. Similar to .45 and less than .223 (lately anyway, 6 months ago I got 1k for $280).

The v-max go on sale for 14.99 per 50 on psa. It's 17.99 right now but it has free shipping which is like $40.

Edit come to think about it I'm pretty sure two separate occasions last yeah the AE went for 12.99 and the V-max for 13.99, but a dollar more each is the usual sake price from them.

Damn, I know when I saw Hickok shoot that gun he said the ammo prices are one con of the caliber as a whole.

Lots of places sell it for stupid prices but if you wait for it to go on sale from a few places it's much more reasonable.

Nothing to do with hunting, shooting or slicing, but if Chesten Hesten can post it, fuck it, why can't I? So because I hate running, I'm trying to un-fatass myself and because it's my belated dirty 30 present to myself, I picked up this, while visiting family in Calgary:

It's a Trek 8.4 DS ("Dual Sport"). I haven't ridden a pedal bike since high school and my major injury was related to cycling, but I do remember really enjoying it. It's a "hybrid" bike; a bit of a crossover between a road bike but with geometry for a more comfortable, upright seating position and has a front fork suspension and wider, knobby tires like a mountain bike. These things have disc brakes, which I didn't even know was a thing for pedal bikes, until I began my research in the past few weeks.

I was initially intrigued by the idea that some people have set up "hunting bikes" and while I doubt I'll end up like this guy:

It did inspire me to get back into pedal bikes as a means of limited transportation and fitness. My goal, is to one day, be able to get to town and back, which is a 100 km round trip with a bunch of elevation changes.

Nic bike, I like 29ers. Now ride the ever living shit out of it until you're a lean mean hunting machine for next season.

And btw, you'll totally be able to do that 100km bike trip in a few months. I was big into cycling for years, I miss it.
