What's Your Next Purchase? V5

I think a strongly worded Email is going to be needed to written to Spikes Tactical here soon... and I doubt I will be doing business with them directly ever again.

I ordered my lower, a stripped Punisher lower, bullet markings, with the markings painted red (so slightly specialty I will admit). I paid them $150 back on June 13. I was quoted "4-6 weeks" when I ordered due to high demand of lowers.

I waited about 5.5 weeks until I Email them, asking "hey, I was quoted 4-6 weeks when I place dorder #XXXXXXX. Just curious what the status of it as. I am sure you're busy *blahblah*", extremely polite. I received a response say "hey, we're sorry, the website should have said 6-8 weeks"

Ok I thought, no worries I'll deal with it. So, I email them August 22nd, at this point it's probably the end of week 8 asking them what the status was again as it still said "In Progress" (and still does). THIS time, I am told "Good afternoon, I have contacted our purchaser and found out that the last batch of punishers we received only covered orders up to May 23. Your order will most likely ship out by the end of September at the latest.

I just checked and it has been 97 days since I placed my order AND paid them. 13 weeks... and now it's September 19th....

I don't think it'd be wrong of me to pester them again would it?

If you're an ar15.com member you could start a threat in their dealer forum section and maybe the public complaint kicks 'em in the ass a little.

Welp, posted a thread. Hope I don't come across as too demanding.

The Email I sent:

To Whoever It May Concern,

So, I ordered a Punisher stripped lower with bullet markings and had them painted red back in June. I believe it was the 13th and paid $150 at the time. When I initially placed an order I was told 4-6 weeks which was no big deal, especially given the political climate around AR style rifles right now.

I waited until about July 11th to inquire as to a status of my order as all it said on the order was "processing". I was told at this time it would be 8-10 weeks and it was supposed to have said that when I placed my order.

I though ok, I can deal with this, especially given the climate we are in demand must be high for them, especially considering what I had ordered could be considered a sort of "special" type order given the paint request and the special engraving of the Punisher skull.

I then sent an Email inquiring on August 22 about the status of my order. That'd be 70 days or 10 weeks since I had placed my order. The tail end of the time quoted after my second Email. At this point I was told that the "last batch of Punishers we received only covered orders to May 23. Your order will most likely ship out by the end of September at the latest."

We are now at September 20, this is 98 days, 14 weeks, or just under 3.5 months since I placed and paid for my order. I'm not trying to demand anything out of this but I'm getting concerned. I ordered an upper from VLTOR and got it like 2 weeks after placing said order. Granted, uppers aren't something that is federally regulated. I have literally every other part of this project for my AR save for a handguard, bolt carrier group, vertical grip, charging handle and iron sights.

I'm not demanding anything special like a partial refund or have something thrown in that I need to finish the project. I just want my lower sent to me so I can finish up this project. I'm getting a bit more urgent as I live in what could only be described as one of the "partially free" states.. ie, Washington or Diet Comrade Kalifornia, and as such I feel a bit under the gun with them half pushing for a ban on so called "hi-capacity" magazines (in their eyes anything over 10 rounds is 'hi-cap') and want to finish this and my AR-10 project I put on hold to finish this before any potential ban is dropped.

So, I'm just wondering what the status of my order is.

Thanks,

Dad called me super early this morning and said he was at sportsmans and they were blowing out a bunch of vanguards, asked me if I wanted one, so I asked him what they had, lots of 7mm wby, 300wby and stuff like that that I wasn't really interested in buying.

He called me back and said there's one 30-06 left...289.00 ok cool buy it. Figured that was it, called me back about 20 mins later and said there was a 375hh for 399....well shit, buy it.

Basically doubles of guns i already have but always willing to add more, now I need a bigger safe.

That would be awesome. Best I've ever got was a free mag once from fnh.
Like I said I doubt I get anything "free" out of this except maybe like a decal, patch, or something similar but still, would be nice.

Response I got:
Good Afternoon Gregory,

We sincerely apologize for the delay and we completely understand your frustrations. The lead time is 8-10 weeks which is based on the best information that we have from our vendors. Our focus is to meet these deadlines but shipment dates may not fall on the 8th or 10th week, unfortunately. There is good news however. We have received another batch of Punishers today. They will be inspected, packaged & labeled, and orders will be pulled in the order received (yours is at the top of the list). We are thankful that you have bared with us and we appreciate your patience (we have quite the workload due to the demand)!

Once the punisher lower has been assigned to your order, it will take an additional 1-2 weeks for the color fill process. Do you still want the color fill or would you like us to remove this service so that you can receive your order sooner?

Looks like it might be on the way soon.

Anybody heard of thes guys?

I'm thinking of getting this set but don't know anybody whose used it.

Don't have much experience in fixed blade/outdoor/bushcraft/hunting knives. Every time I see blades like that though it makes me want a Damascus Esee Izula.

Recently picked up a +2 mag baseplate from Hyve Technologies for my Glock 43.

So far it's basically exactly what I expected. I ran a box of 50 thru the mag and ni issues. The only thing I wasn't the fondest of is you have to cut/file off 2 wing tabs on the magazine in order to install. Not the biggest issue and was easy to do, but once you install this plate, there's no going back to the original. As far as the extra grip length, it's great. I have fairly large hands, so the flush mag makes the gun feel a little smaller than ideal, but with this extension it feels like a full size gun.

Lower shipped... so...., what do I still need to buy?

- Midwest Industries 15" Gen III keymod
- Battle Arms Development Gas Block
- Ergo Deluxe grip
- Buffer
- BCG

KINDA want a NiBo one but I am not sure if I really NEED it. Opinions?

Lots of reports on AR15.com of flaking that made me think it wasn't worth it. Even if that isn't true, there's never complaints on there of wearing out a BCG. If a bolt breaks I'm not sure how much that has to do with the finish. But if NiB were the desired aesthetic I'd pick one up. Personally though I prefer the melonite.

Yeah, I think I might just get a plain BCG. I might drop the BAD gas block too and get a standard low profile one. Means more cash for the handguard and iron sights.

I 100% am getting this or the Magpul ASP endplate:

The one with loops. I am partial to the Midwest endplate as I worry with the Magpul ASP if I do a single point sling the damn thing will be sliding all over the place. I have this Tapco one:

But worry that will have the same issue as the Magpul one.

Those BAD blocks aren't adjustable are they? Seems like aesthetic would be the only reason to go with it and with your 15" HG it doesn't sound like it'll really be visable.

They're titanium and a bit lighter too.
