Holy shit, did @ironwolf get banned?
It occurred to me just a couple days ago that he hasn't been around. Would suck if so. Maybe he'll read this and PM his new account.![]()
That's what weirded me out too, I can't see his profile.I think he just has dubs but he still hasn't been around. Banned or not hopefully he comes back and is all good.
If you have dubs can people not see your profile?
Duty style retention holsters...
- Safariland
- Blackhawk
- Bladetech
Pros, cons of each brand? I have heard some, not horror stories but concerning stories about Blackhawk recently.
I initially wanted a thigh holster but after trying a friend's I realized with the way my body is built... it'd be way too low with a thigh holster. This is one of those "drop leg" type thigh holsters. So, I started looking at something like this:To give the most useful answer I'd need to know more detail such as IWB, OWB, retention, hip mount or vest mount, competition, duty, or concealed carry? Pending more info the Safariland ALS is a very good holster for the price, Bladetech makes several good models and a good, cost-effective IDPA/USPSA competition holster. The Blackhawk SERPA has gotten a bad rap but is a decent holster as long as you are safe and train for it. I prefer the ALS though.
What are you looking for?

It'd sit right where I would like it. I don't need a Level 3 as I am not a member of a LEA or military, this is mostly to run drills with vet friends where I move from AR to pistol and back to AR while in a so your traditional OWB holster rides too high (plus I have a gut so traditional OWB holster I can't wear right at the 3:00 position anyways).
Thanks manI ran the Safariland 6004 SLS (drop-leg) for a few years, but I don't recommend a drop-leg unless you have to wear a plate carrier plate carrier and/or load-bearing vest all the time. No experience with that Bladetech but I think you'd like the Safariland low-rise ALS.

On the way

Awesome if only because it says "Stoner Rifle" on it. Fuck yeah!
Their emblem and that "Stoner Rifle" is definitely why I wanted it so much. I'm glad I waited to buy a KAC lower now that they are all ambi as well.
Real suspicious that there is a warning someplace probably saying "don't use a polymer lower for a pistol or SBR build"For some strange reason when looking for another picture of the SR15 I came across this beauty.
Polymer lower failed after 4 rounds with a pistol upper.

$824 shipped.
Fuck me runnin'. Not sure I could justify that at all.
Unrelated, you familiar with Elcan Specters? Midway has a deal on this and I need something for the Ares belt-fed build. 3x illuminated crosshair with range finder.

Well it is completed with a 4.5lb match trigger, sopmod, fully ambi lower (mag and bolt release)etc.
If you figure
Lower 300
Trigger 200
Sopmod 200
Lpk(best made from what I've read), buffer kit 100
I've only seen them. Never looked through or handled them.
