Yeah I think it really would be an amazing set up for the price.
I think I've read similar about the Jewell. Ultimate in bench rest but not necessarily out in the field.
Lol that bolt knob cracked me up. I was looking at a Carbon bolt knob and that was under the related.
Yeah it would be pretty hard to beat, I mean you'd get it all for ~ 2k depending on the smith work. I see the vanguard back country rifles for ~ 1100 on gb, if you could sell the barrel for 2-300 you'd be in business.
I'm absolutely going to look into it, thanks for the idea. In not writing off the Christensen yet though, the reviews of them seem excellent.
I think the carbon wrapped barrel would also make the gun more of a shooter as In you might actually like to take it with you to the range to practice with, seems more fun than a pencil barrel rifle. It's nice to bridge the gap between a true mountain rifle and a precision rifle.
I honestly can't believe I just blew off this carbon wrap barrels until just a few days ago...
