I'm always going back and forth between two or three titles so it may be best (and less stressful) to include two to three games per decade.

1980s - Tetris, Maniac Mansion

1990s - Star Fox 64, Dynamite Headdy, Final Fantasy 7

2000s - Katamari Damacy , Shenmue

2010s - Super Mario Galaxy 2 , Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, Sekiro

2020s: Returnal , Little Nightmares II, maybe Astro Bot next month =P

With Pc gaming in the 2010's i'd say Minecraft and DayZ were the most influential. As a gaming platform Pc gaming wasnt growing from 2000's consoles rising popularity. These two games showed users the power of independent developers and modding.

Im not saying these games are the best, but they were the ones that ate up my rec time.

80s: Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt combo, Contra(up up down down left right left right b a start), RC Pro Am.

90s: Goldeneye, Goldeneye, Goldeneye, and SF2. I was very good at both of those games.

00s: Tiger Woods PGA tour, GTA San Andreas.

10s: War Thunder, Far Cry 3.

20s: Balders Gate 3, Witcher 3 Next Gen Remaster, Cyberpunk 2077.
