Nice where do live? I also live near the alps and our water comes from an alpine river as well! It‘s extremely alkaline to the point where it blocks faucets, shower etc

Indeed. Tap water from St. Moritz is better than any bottle water anywhere. In fact, the restaurants there charge for it (even though it’s tap) and hardly anyone orders any other type of water.

I thought that growing up.....when you travel a bit and live in less developed areas, it's a necessity.

I live in Sofia, Bulgaria now. All round pretty good quality of living. One of those really old European cities which had modernised pretty successfully.

Water is generally okay, but I guess they are using an old infrastructure because at least twice a year the water goes off for a few days for maintenance/repairs, and when it comes back on can take another few days for the water to fix itself. After a while you just say fuck it and buy bottled.

It's cheap (probably $1 for 1.5 litres), and truthfully, for me personally, it encourages me to drink more water.

When I go back to England, straight back to the tap.
