Comparing her to Ronda is absolutely retarded, UFC cannot make her the "115 Ronda" because 115 already has a killer champ in JJ and Paige hasn't been dominant. Also Ronda's dominance until the Holm fight is borderline impossible to recreate. Ronda had the "first dominant girl", "could beat up men" approach that got everyone on board. That's not going to happen again for a LONG time in the women's division.

Listen, any "popular" fighter will leave a trace. The things that made gain attention with, stuff like that, the little details aside from what they displayed inside the cage. Those things can't be copied, but they create trends that can be followed, especially MMA where fighters get KTFO'd like Ronda was and half of the bandwagoner fans migrate to other sports or athletes.

Those are used as marketing starting points, it happens in every major sport. That's how they hype almost every accomplished athlete, by associating their records with those of past athletes and hyping the fuck out of them.

It is a known tactic. Ronda will be the go-to prototype when it comes to WMMA, even if the UFC doesn't try to re-emulate her strong points for popularity, some fighters will copy her regardless. It had nothing to do with her dominance in cage, more how she ascended to mainstream attention.

UFC is trying to get PVZ a share of Ronda's fanbase, Ronda is coming back, give her fans something similar (PVZ) and they might stick around for one more fighter. It's a win-win situation and it is one of the reasons you'll see sherdoggers hating on popular fighters, most were shamelessly favored by UFC's marketing team and PVZ clearly is.
