Whats up with the huge upsets lately?

Oddsmakers are out of control and the public is betting lines up into infinity.

It's pretty obvious that right now favorites are over-valued in a sport where anything can happen.

If i knew id be a lot richer.

There's only really two guys left and they both fight next PPV. Hold your breath....

Really wish I had seen that thread with the prop bet of Tate/Diaz by sub before last night. Would've easily thrown at least 100 for those ridiculous odds.

Nailed it. Cain was a huge favorite over Werdum coming off of a 2 year layoff and Conor being a 4-1 favorite over Nate was absurd. Obviously there's others but these are the two that really stand out to me.

Well....some of them are overhyped strikers who suck on the mat. That accounts for all the choke outs.

they wouldn't be upsets if people picked the right fighter from the get go.

The only real upset is when Jones or MM lose or when Anderson lost to Weidman the first time. You don't see them on the hype boat derailed gif for a reason. I know you're thinking easy to say now since they're still champs but they will remain so as long as they want. If Rumble gets a KO punch on Jones that will be a true upset.

Most of knew Weidman, Ronda, Conor would all lose. If anything I thought Sage would've lasted longer. He really blew it.

The reason the upsets are so huge are because so many of these guys are way overhyped

I had to learn this lesson the hard way. Jacare, JDS, Silva, and . . . most recently Jim Miller . . . are all guys I bet on and lost.

The dogs are where it's at right now.

And even beyond those I mentioned, there's Miesha and Diaz and . . . uhh . . . the dude who beat Eric Silva whose name I can remember right now.

I hope that means Jon Jones is going down soon

Fists hitting faces is happening.

What is going on?

the hype machine is in overdrive.

come on, the ufc bending over backwards for one person and breaking every rule for him, you haven't noticed it?

they have abandoned all hopes of becoming a legit sports organization; instead, they have become shortsighted, and putting all the eggs in one basket until that basket breaks... then they try to look for another basket to stack their eggs with. it's really as simple as that.

maybe with all the old stars gone, they're starting to recognize that the ufc has been on a steady decline and they need to do whatever they can to squeeze as much money as they can whenever an opportunity presents itself...... fuck contracts and rules.

Cain getting tapped out in Mexico
Ronda getting headkick KOd
Aldo who has never been KOd gets KOd in 13 seconds
Anderson loses to Bisping
Conor gets choked out at 170 vs Diaz
Miesha becoming the bw champion

Unpredictable as fuak

I've hit a few of the dogs, Diaz last night but overall I've been getting shelled. I'm pissed at myself for not pulling the trigger on Tate.

These are not huge upsets, the hype is just more effective on the viewers than it used to be. Back in the day, if a 145 lb champion moved up two weight classes to take on a lanky, tough as nails contender, it would've been seen as a very risky fight.
