I'm starting to think that alot of these injuries come down to weight management. These guys look like they're dying on the scales. I haven't really seen anything like this in boxing (outside of some exceptions).

Let's be honest, part of the Dagestani dominance is also due to their ability to cut weight.

The issue is that Islam fights only 2 times a year and has specific dates he picks. He had an issue pulling out earlier in his career also, but now that he is picking the date, he makes it more often after running super long camps.

Sucks that Armen got injured on such short notice. It's annoying because both he and Islam probably won't fight until after July again, which means LW will stagnate again for a year.

I don't think Moicano is the guy to pull off a win. Hopefully we atleast get a good fight like the DP one.

you know what bothers me? I was so stanch in the idea that they would not make that armen match when it came to the point it was happening and it was a month away, I really started to feel like "damn, I guess i have to eat crow" I always said he wouldn't fight a HARD matchup like this until AFTER he broke the LW record. And it still didn't happen. It's just the most crazy happenstance and it's over and over revolving around Islam Every fight after the volk fight is incredibly fishy in how it just gets put together based on lack of options. People talk about poatan not fight Magomed that is just ONE match up this is 3 times in a row of the LW title not being defended against a Top 3 LW

That's a crazy theory.

Losing a title fight isn't even that bad for a fighter's reputation.

What would be their end game plan?
They accept the fight, plan to pull out last minute - yet fail to convince the average sherdogger.
They stupidly choose to look okay before weighin day and get injured out of the blue
(instead of being clever and planting fake rumors about some injury, and walking around with a fake limp)

And then what would be the plan to get the belt?
They hoping Islam retires? (Which may take years)
Or the last minute replacement beats Islam?

In the mean time - are they gonna keep fighting down the rankings and...then what? Back to being offered to fight Islam.
(If they think he's unbeatable surely they think he won't lose to a last minute replacement)
