What's the next "calf kick"?

I think a rule change would lead to some new move

But maybe a more proficient oblique kick

I think we will see more people emulating a Sean Strickland style. Plodding yet completely defensive, turn every fight into a spreadsheet tabulation and hope the moving forward makes the difference.

Although with the way the UFC in particular is digressing from a sport back to spectacle, I think the 'meta' of fighters changing their styles won't necessarily be in the cage. I expect more ridiculous personas, right-wing ball-washing, and 3-4 handpicked fights on the way to title shots despite not fighting anyone of relevance ... but all of that is almost entirely at the discretion of Dana White himself.

The twat swat and c%$t punt are making waves in local circuits.

Diving torpedo headbutt

Screaming

Throwing ki energy at each other

I think you could jack some dudes up with 12-6 elbows while having the back w/hooks-in or body-triangle

Just need to avoid the back of the head (mohawk line) and rattle some skulls

Upkick from guard ala Anderson Silva vs Okami in Pride when it's allowed.

Much has been made about how the calf kick became popularized and changed MMA in the last 7 years or so.

So my question is this:

If you were to predict the next new trendy technique or strategy that every fighter will add to their repertoire, what would it be?

Doesn't have to be brand new technique, either. I mean calf kicks weren't new, they were just rarely used until they caught fire and everyone started using them.

Could be something we've seen before but it's just not used often, like Mark Hunt's atomic butt drop.
Benson Henderson was using the calf kick way back in the day but it only caught on later because I think the overall level of boxing improved and the calf kick because a great counter to a fighter who leans on the jab.

Given the prominence of the calf kick I think we'll see more and more left hook counters as the lead left hook pairs well with a power leg roundhouse kick. So far only Peireira has made a name for himself with the left hook but wouldn't be surprised if we see more and more KOs from that punch.
