What's the most anyone has lost on gambling?

We talking vcash? I went all in on cotto

12k vcash!!

"First we get the money, then we get the power, then we get the women."

I wonder if you could buy mod status with vcash, I hear being a mod on sherdog is the ultimate pussy magnet.

17,500 about a year and a half ago.
And I don't say that in a proud way at all.

Ran really badly and I was playing 2000NLHE, whereas I now play 600NLHE and a bit of 1000NLHE.

I lost about 25k in a handful of days in early 2009 betting on an exchange traded fund. That's the biggest gamble I've ever taken and paid for.

I knew of a guy, who owned a pretty popular pizza joint. He decided to go to Atlantic City with a $200,000 loan from his business. He lost it all.

Good advice from someone I know with multiple past gambling mistakes,

Don't bring debit or credit cards with you
Withdraw before going what you need and how much you want to lay down
Reserve and pay for the room and a way to get back home beforehand
Gamble only during special occasion like holidays

Most importantly develop self control mentality. Nobody gets rich with gambling. Win enough and quit and if lose pack it in and dont bet anymore. Of course easy said then done

back in the day when i was in my late teens and early twenties i was in AC often.
my biggest losing hand was 1600.

overall, my worst night or day was probably 2500.

now i live much closer to AC and i dont go at all. had to meet friends for dinner some months ago and i won about 800, but other than that, i dont gamble anymore.

oh and when i won 800 i probably had not gambled in more than 5 years. for about a month i had a serious itch to go back.

When I went to Vegas a few months back, I lost $1500 over a few days.
Right now since NFL started I'm -$190 on that.

Gambling is for suckers.

Yeah, no. Ignorant statement.
It's stupid if you don't know how to do it.

It's so fucking easy to make a lot of money on MMA betting.
Poker is harder, but you can definitely make money from it.

$85k in a baccarat table, one hand.
$600 in poker, one hand.
$6k in nba, one game - lakers against orlando, lost on odds of +2.5.
$200 in boxing, one match - bet against pacquiao against morales in their 3rd fight.
$200 in mma, one match - bet against jones hahaha i bet on shogun.

85 thousand $ ?

EDIT:Nvm,it's been answered.

From what I understand isn't poker no longer considered gambling because it is primarily a skill-based game rather than luck?

That's obvious, though a lot of governments don't recognize it as a skill-based game.
It's fucking ridiculous.

I lost 30 bucks betting on bj penn and cro cop last year. Fucking nostalgia.

Lost $1400 betting on Rampage Vs. Griffin a few years back...

Was hella pissed that Rampage couldn't defend leg kicks for shit.

I had built $300 into $1800 in a few months on some great picks and the one time I decided to go for a "safe" but bigger then normal bet cost me.

At least you aren't in denial claiming you were robbed or something! Many still claim Rampage won that fight and I really don't get it.

Back on topic... most I've lost betting on a single MMA fight is probably $150 or so. Was pretty confident Nog would beat Mir in their first fight, how wrong I was! I bet on MMA a lot but very small units and just for fun. If I make a little extra cash doing it, which I did this year, all the better but it just makes the fights more fun to watch for me.

I live very close to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, 2 of the biggest casinos in the United States. I really hate slot machines, don't know how to play craps, don't like blackjack... so the only thing I do when I go down there is play poker and only at the $1/$2 tables with no more than $100 to lose. I've won a couple times, lost a couple times but thankfully I don't have an addictive personality and don't gamble anything I can't afford to lose.

A guy I know through a friend is not allowed in any casinos in the Northeast.... he just got out of prison for stealing lots of money to feed his gambling problems. I don't know the whole story but supposedly one of his best friends passed away, and a charity was set up for his children's college funds. The guy I know was the treasurer of the charity, and took all the money to gamble with. From his dead friend's children. Fucked up.
