I pretty much quit drinking in October and in November I had gout, so that pretty much ended that relationship with booze.

This is the longest I haven't had a drink, knock on wood. Besides getting anxious during social settings and having some booze would calm me down.

Nonetheless, I don't miss it at all. Hopefully I can keep it going for the rest of my life. (Knock on wood)
I quit 2 years ago after my daughter was born. I only miss it because it covered for my lack of interest in people. If you are like me, I treat everyday as a decision. Can I drink? Yes. Would I like to drink? Yes. Do I need a drink? No.

I used to drink daily from age 23 to around 45, beer, whiskey cokes, whatever else. Id go thru a handle of beam every week or so for years. Still drink on occasion. If I go out to dinner and the other person drinks I'll have one. But don't drink at home anymore. In the last month I've had 2 drinks. Giving up alcohol wasn't that hard or big a deal for me even though I did drink a lot. I thought it'd be much tougher.

Now weed on the other hand. I was a daily multiple multiple times smoker, since I was 22. The kind who'd wake and bake on days off from work and smoke more or less hourly til bed. Quit in June, havent touched marijuana since then. I'm proud of myself for this one

I rarely drink and don't crave it at all. Have probably gone 2 or 3 years without alcohol multiple times since 20's but don't keep track. When I do drink it's probably 10 to 20 drinks/year tops in social settings or just when I feel like it. I like the taste of whiskey, wine and wheat beers but since my 20's have never felt the need to drink more than 2 drinks in one sitting. I don't enjoy being drunk and it also makes me feel like shit the next day.

I drink a bit maybe 1-2 a year the last.couple years. Maybe I'm borinng. When I was younger I would get shitfaced occasionaly on weekends.

Usually I drink once a week but when I go out to drink I'm probably putting away 4 - 6 beers

I rarely drink. Maybe a couple times per year and it's only 1-2 drinks. I had a beer at a concert this past weekend. Before that was a small glass of wine at a Christmas party last month. I can't remember the last time I had a alcoholic beverage before that.

Longest I have gone in the last 25 years was 3-4 months without a drink. I got pretty sick.

For the last 6 Years or so I try to keep it to the weekend. I had a good 4 month stretch there where I didn't drink from Monday to Thursday (so 4 days in a row) but kinda fell off after the summer shutdown. Now trying to get back on track I stay sober Monday, Tuesday have a few Wednesday and sober again Thursday. I stick to that pretty good. Weekends are a free for all though including Sunday. Getting old my body needs those breaks from that shit. lol Plus I only drink Beer.

The older I get, the more I realize drinking is a young person's game. It becomes work later in life, lol.

I have my moments.

If I'm vacationing in the DR or Cuba, it may or may not be 7-10 Friday's in a row. At home, maybe once or twice a week, but I sure as hell can't handle what I used to, and I never drink alone. 2 500mg Tylenol and 2 500mg Advil before passing out makes a huge difference.

I didn't drink at all until I was 26. I moved in with my girlfriend and she was an alcoholic so I picked up the habit of drinking beer daily. Then when we broke up 4 years later I got a job at a bar and drank a lot, often. But when Covid hit and places were closed, I said I'll try quitting and I haven't had a drink since.......sometime around the fall of 2020.

i think i was around 9 years old when my parents first allowed me a sip of wine, with the large family gathering dinner.

So that 9 year time span, from zero to 9, would be my longest stretch.

That said, also in that time frame some parents used whiskey and other alcohols to rub on teething kids gums and some parents would even give a tiny amount to infants to help them sleep so i cannot know for sure all 9 years were fully alcohol free.

Went almost 7 years without a drop, then my Pop (RIP) gave me my first taste of Schmidts Lager.

Haven't repeated that long lonely duration since.

Most of the year I won’t drink very often. I’ve sometimes gone almost 3 months without a drink. I think last year my first drink of 2024 was a Guinness on St Patrick’s day.

Then I’ll have short periods where I’m drinking more frequently. In December I bought myself one of those beer advent calendars, so I was having a beer everyday for 24 days straight. Afterwards I was having at least one rum and eggnog everyday over the holidays. But now it’s January again and other than some champagne to ring in the New Year I haven’t had a drink all month.

Okay, I'm 60 and have drank 3-5 days a week most of my life. Last few years I have cut back mostly and am pulling back further to 1-2 drinks a month. I enjoy booze but it doesn't agree with my system as much these days.

Been about 2 years since I had a drink. I just really prefer weed over alcohol TBH. I have nothing against alcohol and when I was drinking, it was bourbon or mezcal. I try to eliminate unnecessary sugar from my daily intake, and removing alcohol was top of the list as something I could do without.

I have been a weekend warrior for a long time. I probably average 1.5-2 days a week as sometimes I have a mid-week event or function. I am good for 8-12 drinks per session depending on what I am doing. I drink beer or vodka sodas, Martinis, I stick to low carb light colored stuff. I never drink alone, always social, and we have an active social life, sometimes too active. I did a dry January because I had Covid in December, and it raised my Liver ALT numbers again. It did that last time and took a month or two to go down, so I am off the stuff until it comes back clean. Don't want to be in a position where I can't drink anymore so I stay healthy about it lol. Today is 29 days and it is the longest I have had a break since my kids were born, maybe 20 years. Would like to be ready for March--Madness, St Patricks Day and weekend is a huge party here, my sons 21st.....
