What's the greatest love song from the 1980s?

Daylight licked me into shape
I must've been asleep for days
And moving lips to breathe her name
I opened up my eyes
And found myself alone, alone
Alone above a raging sea
That stole the only girl I loved
And drowned her deep inside of me

Daylight licked me into shape
I must've been asleep for days
And moving lips to breathe her name
I opened up my eyes
And found myself alone, alone
Alone above a raging sea
That stole the only girl I loved
And drowned her deep inside of me
Just Like Heaven is a genuinely iconic 80's track. I'd rank it above Lovesong overall

Thanks, but I'll take Robert Smith's actual love letter to his wife for this thread

I'm surprised the biggest hit of the decade hasn't been mentioned yet.

OK, I didn't think this through.

GOAT eighties love song:

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time

Preferred the Hooters version.

This song was personal for me when I was in high school. I had a thing for a girl who was from a different social status so in her eyes we couldn't be together no matter how we actually felt about each other.

Obscure choice, but I was a fan of Honeymoon Suite.
