Just saw this the other day and couldn't stop smiling while I watched it. Is the best ever, nah...but you can't fuck with it.

This set Scarface did on an NPR show recently was freaking amazing, the emotion he displays as he gets completely wrapped up in the music is beautiful and reminded me why I've been obsessed with music for 5 decades

Also, Scarface is the greatest living rapper of all time, bar none

Maybe.. tupac was a good actor when he played the gangster role as a former feminine art student...

Do you think "real" gangsters don't like art?
Or is it that you think "real" gangsters didn't have regular childhoods just like everyone else?

come on.. watching the dude before all the rap stuff and after is hilarious.

He was playing a role for money and record sales.

I grew up in some of the same ghettos he grew up in during the same era, I don't see anything fake about it

There were plenty of us that enjoyed art and Saturday morning cartoons but also sold drugs and joined gangs, I was one of them, people aren't one dimensional movie characters, we're complex creatures with multiple sides that change and evolve as we grow through life

If you take the person of Tupac out of it and just applied his complete life story to a random nobody that didn't have all the notoriety that Pac had, I doubt you would say that person wasn't living a real gangster life

Best or my favorite off of the top of my head was around 02, Blackalicious (RIP) ft. Dilated People concert… Was Hot Fire!

It’s rather interesting trying to figure out a Best Rap/HipHop performance? To me it is dictated a lot on the mood of the audience, if they all in and the rapper is in tune with them, that’s when memories are made.

Other than that, every other rap/hiphop performance feels the same to me, someone holding a mic walking back and forth on stage for an hour..

I mean with some real good rap/ hip hop there are no gimmicks to add to the concert, not really any crazy light shows, dancers, background videos or clothes changes. It’s just the rapper do their thing.

honestly.. i dont care and I'm just trolling at this point

but don't like gangster rappers... music can be cool but the whole ghetto persona and glorifying violence sounds stupid to me.

And before anything... I'm from the hood in Southamerica... I know street life, crime, poverty and I have an inclination to violence myself. That is why I hate those to glorify that and worse of all make a shit ton of money doing so.

Always saw hip hop as a studio thing. All about the production that can never translate live imo. Not that that's bad. I love drum machines and samplers.
