What's more boring?

At least with lay n pray you have one capable fighter “technical striking battles”
Yeah, “technical striking battles”

There were these in “technical striking battles” with ... umm, All ufc guys except the real
WARRIORS.

Should they cut stand up fighters who spar to decisions always as well? No one wants to see that either.
No I don't like those either but a guy who is absolutely lost on the ground after getting his opponent down with no signs of improvement from fight to fight, seems like a dead end. I'm talking about cutting a fighter for being bad at mma. IMO It's harder to make as strong a case for cutting an equally boring fighter for being good at mma but frustratingly evasive and ineffective on damage, if they're technically "doing everything right". Luckily the wrestling example seems pretty rare, whereas the sparring example seems like an epidemic -one requiring something like a rule change. To be clear I enjoy all aspects of mma.

Lay and pray for multiple reasons.

1. When trying to Kalib Starnes your way out of a fight, most of the time you will be putting yourself at a disadvantage as the other fighter is usually the aggressor.

2. Lay and praying is seen as "winning" by bad judges

3. It could be easily fixed with the number of on the ground finishes doubling simply by legalizing knees to the head of a grounded opponent or introducing yellow cards, or both.

Nothing worse than a staring contest.
There is only one thing more borring to me than that and that's sloppy desperate takedown attempts that have ZERO chance of completion ala Woodley vs Maia. it was half starring contest, Half desperate weak hearted takedown attempts. I had friends over for that ppv and 4 people fell asleep during that fight.

Stand n Pray because at least you're wondering if they will get ko-ed.

Lay n pray, you're just wondering if the opponent will manage to get back up.

Just because of the gloves... UFC striking is always entertaining. Even Garry.. who you guys called a "point fighter".. That fight was a lot of fun.

You guys don't understand.. It's different from boxing where a point fighter like Shakur Stevenson is literally doing 0 damage..

The two worst fights in history:

Lewis vs Ngannou
Carla vs Rose

All took place 99.5% on the feet. Carla may have gotten one or two takedowns and had top control for like 2 seconds.

Why wouldn’t you wonder if the lay and pray guy will sub?

Both probably happens on similar frequencies.

Give me Woolley vs Maia over Lewis and Ngannou any day of the week.

Better chance for something meaningful to happen on their feet

It's hard to sub a lay n pray guy. The stand up point fighter is under a lot more danger.

Umm so you are assuming the stand and run guy is up against some aggressive striker that will create action and try to KO him?

I mean if the lay and pray guy is up against some amazing grappler then there’s going to be a lot of sub attempts and transitions.

Boring fights only happen when you have a lay n pray guy and another guy that has no ground game, same when you have a stand and point fight guy against someone who is passive and won’t move forward.

Pftttt no chance in hell need I remind you Woodley Maia is 25 mins long to ngannou Lewis 15 mins, also Maia Vs Woodley set the record for least strikes landed in a title fight

Still more strikes than Ngannou vs Lewis. They threw like 6x more than Lewis and like 10x more than Ngannou.

And no, Rose vs Carla had far less strikes for a title fight.

Lewis won the fight with 20 strikes, FYI.
