No one seems to want to risk their spot to fight Khamzat other than Jared. So if Jared ends up getting to challenge DDP for the belt he is basically fucked unless the UFC wants to give Vettori to Khamzat which I still believe is the only real option they have if they want him to fight this year.

Jared will not get a title fight. It is either Izzy or Strickland.

I think Khamzat would try to avoid Cannonoier tho.. despite Jared turning 40 today he is still a rough fight.

Izzy does not deserve a title shot now, he lost badly to Sean and was already gifted an immediate TS after losing to Alex. He should not get another one without fighting down. It should be Sean or Jared that get the TS over Izzy. Sean's fight with DDP was very close so that warrants a run back and Jared is the only one in the top 3 that isn't coming off of a loss.

See this is the kind of thing that makes people dislike Khamzat even more is the constant cope that his fans have. Just say he beat Usman. He wasn't P4P at the time as he was coming off of 2 losses, short notice, up a weight class.

If Izzy went up to 205 on 10 days notice and lost to Rakic via lay and pray and Rakic got a shot off of that people would call it fucking ridiculous, which it would be.

To some extent his inactivity is due to health issues
* Was gonna fight Leon in late 2020 but got covid,
* Was rescheduled to march of 2021 but turned out it was long covid so had to cancel again
* Then fought 3 times with 6 months in between (Jingliang, Burns, Holland) and was gonna fight Costa 1 month later but it fell through. Took a year until he fought Usman - and we later learned Khamzat was hospitalized during that time (via deleted tweet of him in a hospital bed all puffy and rashy) and he also mentioned a hand injury which required surgery (not sure if he got it during this time)
* And then his hand got injured again in the Usman fight I think.

And now he supposedly can't travel to the US due to Kadyrov associations, so his options for last minute bookings are limited. Also unsure if he is recovering from another injury as he said he's aiming for a summer return (rather than spring, after ramadan)

Not saying this defends Khamzats behavior, annoying tweets, weight cut failure etc.
And I totally agree his gas tank is a huge question for any fights that to 3rd rounds or more. His striking defense is also not great so I can see him getting caught.

Study came out days ago that proved the theory that long covid literally doesn't exist. Made up for histrionic women and hypochondriacs, so I don't know what that was about, probably an underlying immune condition on his part, but that's between him and his doctor.

I think he will retire early due to some injury, guy seems oddly fragile for a chinchin.
